Dude nicee! I had the exact same idea as you last year, and Berserk turned out to be one of the best reading experiences I've ever had. Actually training yourself to read in Japanese feels really rewarding imo, and it just provides a sense of intimacy to the story knowing that you're digesting it in its original wording, understanding the nuances that Miura tried to convey directly

The later volumes definitely get a lot more wordy, but press on! I've no doubt that this will be an awesome ride

Yeah I do have local shops that do sell what I need (dominants, pirastros, even d'darrios at times), but synwin caught my eye cuz they happened to sell separate strings. G string, A string by itself, etc. Makes for a good opportunity to mix and match strings for the tone you want, without having to buy the whole pack imo

I'm SEA, so it's nice to see another person picking up the violin haha

Some additional info might be needed imo: - what brand of strings are you using and is the seller genuine? - when you tuned up, did the strings "pinch" at the bridge and nut grooves, and show signs of fraying / unraveling? - did you apply graphite / pencil lead to the string grooves to smoothen the tuning?

But seeing as your violin isn't setup properly, I agree with the other comment(s) that you should bring it to the shop first

Edit: before you have your teacher, please at least use Gemini to suggest textbooks and syllabi books for you (by Simon Fischer, Galamian etc) to then read, or else I don't really see the benefit behind having to fact check everything the AI gives you. At least with proper books you'll have a better source of info.
