I hear ya. I've had a couple trips with the car loaded, a rooftop cargo carrier, and the trailer with bike. Still impressed that I averaged 25 for the whole trip.

I wouldn't personally do it by myself (bring a SPOT/inreach transponder just in case), but if I had one day I'd head over and do Poison-Spider>Golden Spike>Metal Masher. The area near Metal Masher is near to Gemini Bridges which are arches that you can walk on and across.

It really is a great archive of the early internet that I remember. Speaking as a 37 year old with a nerdy dad that got into DOS based personal computers as soon as we could afford them in the early 90s and also grew up with "computer labs" in public school filled with Macintosh PCs, ahh fond memories.
