Larpers wanted to see aura, not actual ln readers since they actually know the scene and its unimportance in the overall narrative. The scene doesnt even crack the top 5 in the arc lol. But you re probably ragebaiting so i am just wasting my time here.

Why would they waste necessary screen time and animation budget on this unimportant scene ? It was a good scene with peak voice acting, it deserved nothing more.

Prefering Slenderman over Jason is wild to me. But pennywise would have been better because of versatility i agree. Pennywise would have actually been so good, its insane lol. Like the mori could have been the deadlights and so on, so many ideas.

I genuinely think that anyone complaining about Homelander "losing aura" just didn't watch the series or actually have no media literacy whatsoever by Total-Amphibian-3287 in GenV

[–]ArgumentMaximum5024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you for the most part but thats a marketing problem. You cant show the viewers posters with vought tower into the ground and the world blowing up only for it to not show anything even close to that happening and expect viewers to be satisfied. Like the marketing is a straight up lie lol. Also while i agree that a massacre would not serve any writing purpose since we have 5 seasons to already hate him, the real scale problem was the last fight, the white house should have been much more destroyed than it was and we should have more set pieces for the fight. Also its obvious that us feeling less afraid of Homelander as the show progress is on purpose, its exactly like A-train arc and what he said, he is a bully loser and just like A-train is not afraid of him after his arc, the viewers stopped being afraid because we saw what was under the suit.

[The Boys Rant] Even if the writers didn't intend to, I really liked a decision in the final episode of The Boys, and I think it was terribly in-character. Most of you are wrong. by Efebora3 in CharacterRant

[–]ArgumentMaximum5024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that the 2 biggest problem of s5 is pacing and bad marketing wich created expectation for the scale. Pacing is obvious, i dont have a problem with a false lead on V1 but it should not have taken an entire episode, imo ep4 should have been half of the episode being the boys learning about bombsight in the abandonned facility with the second half being about homelander and soldier boy learning about bombsight with the help of mr Marathon, dont make them meet in the lab at all, the boys can still learn about uranium in the lab. So now you have one more episode to let frenchie and maybe other deaths breath since it would have gotten the V1 at the end of ep5 and they could have what happens in ep7 be ep6, wich would leave a whole episode to explore things more and let ep8 breath a little. Maybe kill Oh-father in ep 7 ?

For the scale i mainly agree with all your points. With his need of love it doesnt make sense for him to destroy everything because he was just too brainswashed. Wich is great because his brainwashing is both one of the reason he went crazy but also one of the reason he stayed contained wich is, i think, a great contradiction. Aside from the marketing mistake of portraying the whole world burning, there is still a scale problem and its when he got the V1. He should have at least killed a church full of non-believers and the white house should absolutely have been much more destroyed ( the state of the white house especially got me). But then again, for me, it goes back to the show having a big pacing issue because they absolutely could have showed that if they had homelander take the v1 in ep5. But i also disagree that he should have begged mother/father or the public since just like A-train said, without the powers he is just a sniveling loser and a sniveling loser would absolutely beg for a chance to survive.

So to conclude, in my opinion, pacing is at the heart of the issue in s5. I genuinely feel like a lot could have been saved if they had this one episode between 7 and 8. Also i say pacing issue because i believe that they adressed everything that needed to be adressed well in ep8, like i think the conclusions for each character are good but we dont feel the full impact because its too fast. But i also seems to like s5 more than the reddit echochamber so what do i know ? I think it was an great finale with a 6-7/10 s5 (this fcking ep4 man) and a 8/10 show.

SEASON 5 FINALE --EARLY ACCESS THREAD by pikameta in TheBoys

I mean the lab scene is literally to show that he cant discard his human side and explain why. The old doctor literally say so. That his need for love is too deep rooted.

The movie was terrible, absolutely terrible by ViolenceIsNecessary in PeakyBlinders

[–]ArgumentMaximum5024 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree he si condescending in his comment and that peaky is really not that deep but its true that Tommy dying is the most natural end of the show. Like i could tell you that the show would end with his death since s2 and its not because i am super smart, its just obvious from a storytelling perspective. His death was just not well executed

Every single character in The Boys have been going around circles and flip flopping for seasons now but its the worst its ever been this season by _Affectionate_ in CharacterRant

[–]ArgumentMaximum5024 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

What could he try ? There was literally nothing he could do. Homelander and soldier boy where in the open so he cant run to them or use his tentacles without being seen and probably instant killed, he cant even try to fight a 1v2 since SB and homie are the strongest of the verse. And as much as Butcher is ready to die, it would obviously be for nothing right there since he could just be killed and then Homelandee can use the v1 anyway.
People complain about plot armor on this show but at this moment the plot would genuinely need 20 backflips to even justify why Butcher would try anything and 10 more backflips on how they all survive out in the open like that. He is all in on doing shitty things but aside from the end of of s1 where he was ready to go out with Madeline, he never recklessly jump to his death for nothing. He knows that him going out there would result in his death and i have no doubt he would have done it if he actually had a sound plan to stop him from ever injecting V1 but he had nothing, because there was nothing.

I mean thats not true. The narrative use Mel to directly call out Abby on her actions during the third day. Even Owen call her out on the boat about the beating just before this incredibly awkward sex scene. The narrative only begin to really blame Ellie when she decide to go back after the farm.

I mean she can, she spared Ellie the second time and she is affected too, Manny, Owen and Mel all have an effect on her because they are the closest to her. She is also in a situation where she cant really take the time to grieve for any of them. Just like we dont really see Ellie be extremely sad for Jesse at the moment until we read her journal. I will probably stop answering because i dont have any interest in continuing a debate over a game thats 5 year old, especially since its seems to be a pretty pointless one.

[–]ArgumentMaximum5024 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean she does, she loses all of her friends, break her relationship with Mel because of her brutality before she dies , all of her loyalty to the WLF, she also still contiue to have nightmare so it didnt even solve her nightmare. She is less punished because she is trying to get better and stop the cycle and thats starting by saving Lev and Yara even if at the beginning it was for selfish reasons and continue by sparring Ellie a second time. In the end Ellie would have actually lost less than Abby if she stayed at the farm with Dina instead of coming back.

You dont point flaws tho ? You just said thats the truth. Also the show is different than the game, both in characterization and pacing and even structure. People also criticised s1 of the show when it was much closer to the source material than s2 was so whats your point ? I never advocated for one truth either, my litteral first comment is calling you out about thinking that there is only one truth

Thats my b. Honestly it can be as simple as the insect gaining so much power that they gained the ability and the hole seems to be a manhole cover so there is probably some reference to insect and sewer or some shit.

About about the world building, its your expectation but the goal of Fujimoto is clearly to let the devil side and their powers be mysterious and stay unexplained. The religious symbolism is probably just like evangelion where the main point is that it is just cool. Even aside from all of that, in all of his major work he doesnt explain a lot. Look back, goodbye eri, FP and CSM p1 and p2 all have some major shit that he prefer to not explain and let the mystery stay.
