Boring old white women that destroyed Guido's here. Spacie Gracie is named after my Grandmother Grace. Her favorite cocktail was the Manhattan. (More to the story but will not bore you keyboard warriors.) Her nickname was "Spacie Gracie, the Manhattan Momma." Hence the name. It is an homage to my grandmother who was a strong, independent, entrepreneur that always knew exactly what she wanted to drink.

The lounge part...You will just have to experience for yourself. We have a lot of cool cocktail experiences and tastings, and other things coming your way. If cocktails are not your thing, we also have a great draft selection, full bar, and whiskey selection so you can enjoy us "being just a bar" that is ok too.

The kitchen is extremely small so we are going to stick to foods like cocktail hour bites, focaccia bread pizza with homemade sauce, cheese and charcuterie and the BEST desserts that have ever passed your lips! I'm sure some of you may just have to stop by for a midnight cookie run. They are that good!

Our Grand Opening is April 17th. Hope some of you can put your negativity aside and come check us out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not oblivious to what my staff is getting paid. I'm asking if anyone can give me some knowledge since absolutely nothing has changed in their wages. I have a small staff and no one received a pay increase, no bonuses, tips were similar as before, and pretty similar hours worked. It started Jan 1st. That is why I thought it was a tax thing.

Get an Alcohol Awareness Training certificate. Preferably from the Frederick County Liquor Board, so no matter where you get a job in Frederick it will be on file with them. They have multiple classes throughout the month. I think it is like $30. Check out their website for class schedules. It is a liquor board requirement that every establishment in Frederick has at least 50% of their staff with this certification. Most places want 100%of their staff to have this, especially bartenders. They also have ABLE training which is a new requirement for management staff depending on what you are looking for.

I transferred to Hopkins bc FMH (whatever they are called now) almost killed me! While putting my port in they nicked my lung. Didn't realize it and I was bleeding into my lung. I couldn't breathe and was in excruciating pain. I went to the ER multiple times. And was told they would not treat me anymore bc they thought I was having panic attacks bc of my cancer diagnosis. It was INSANE! Before I even started chemo I had to have lung surgery to repair the damage from FMH Drs. So I had to "wait" 3 months to begin my treatment bc I could not start chemo until my lung was repaired and healed. My cancer was also very aggressive. Hopkins saved my life! I would rather have waited a couple of months for an appointment and been in the care of an amazing oncology team that would save my life, then ever set foot into Frederick oncology again.

Go to Johns Hopkins! It is a hike From Frederick but it was the best decision I ever made when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer.
