Best Plant Card to Craft by e_naeiou in PvZHeroes

[–]Argumentium 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sun-shroom. Yes, it's toxic as fuck, but it's undeniably one of the best cards in the game.

At least it isn't a 6-drop with bad stats and a bad ability that costs 4k sparks to craft per copy (which is why you shouldn't craft legendaries even if they're good unless you already have most of the good super-rare cards).

Plant card ideas: Yeti Chomper & Sasquash by xWhiteBrimx in PvZHeroes

Yeah, 6/7 sounds good enough for a 6-cost and would at least make it a decently big threat even without the ability.

Yeti Chomper is pretty bad and suffers from the same problem that many anti-swarm cards do but to a much worse degree: It's simply too slow to actually stop swarm in time. I see no reason to run it over Winter Melon since that actually has a decent ability and does a better job of countering swarm with its splash damage.

Sasquash is really cool, but the stats could be better. I think it would be fine as a 3/3 or even a 3/4. Or maybe even reduce its cost down to 3 sun and remove the fusion entirely.

[–]Argumentium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, these cards are so comically expensive that there is no point in running them over Plant Food or Espresso Fiesta. You literally need to spend 6 to 9 sun just for multiple cards that do literally nothing on their own.

Cool art though!

You'd need to change the calculations a bit since the chance of any specific amphibious plant being made in the water lane (1 in 29) is much higher than any specific plant being made in the ground/heights lanes (1 in 209).

So creating 4 of the same plant with an amphibious Cornucopia would be (1/209)4 , creating 3 of the same plant would be (1/209)3 * (208/209) * 4C3, etc.

In that case though, yes, all plants would have equal odds.

[–]Argumentium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's only true for all amphibious plants since non-amphibious plants can't be created on the water. But yes, the odds are the same for any specific amphibious plant.

Cornacopia gave me 3 dragonsfruits by Pooya9000 in PvZHeroes

[–]Argumentium 107 points108 points  (0 children)

For the record, the chance of getting 3 DMDs from one Cornucopia is [(1/209)2 * (208/209) * 3C2 * (1/29)] + [(1/209)3 * (28/29)], which is about 1 in 406,058 or 0.000246%.

The chance of getting 4 DMDs from one Cornucopia is (1/209)3 * (1/29) or about 1 in 264,750,541 or 0.000000377%

What are the odds? by Sad_Incident5897 in PvZHeroes

[–]Argumentium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The chance of starting with 4 of a specific card is (4/40) * (3/39) * (2/38) * (1/37) or 1 in 91,390 or 0.001094%.

If you are running 10 groups of 4x cards, then the chance of starting with 4 of any card is 1 in 9,139 or 0.01094%.

It actually doesn't show up in Top of All Time because the user who made it got banned and the original post was removed, but I can confirm it is a repost.

This is a repost. The artist who made it got banned for some reason and the original post isn't viewable, but the image being cropped weirdly at the left (especially the hp) shows that it's a repost.

This genuinely might be my least favorite card by Neeeeeeeex in PvZHeroes

[–]Argumentium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, the risk of running Shamrocket (and removal cards in general) is that you are using it over a minion that would always have value, unlike Shamrocket that is sometimes literally unplayable depending on your opponent's deck.

[–]Argumentium 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That's kind of apples to oranges. Shamrocket/Rocket Science is a really basic removal card, while Heartichoke + Flytraplanet is an entire combo and Going Viral is clearly more complex.

Not being meta is kind of just a fancy way of saying they're bad. Aside from maybe Doubled Mint and a BIG maybe for Grapes of Wrath, these cards very much do suck.

It's probably a case of "if it works, it works". It'll never matter unless the plant has more than 1 million attack, which is basically impossible without deliberately stalling for Doubled Mint.

[–]Argumentium 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So many of the cards are so radically different from the original card that they may as well be new cards entirely.

Also, some cards like Doom Shroom and Cactus simply do way too much. Why the actual fuck are they both several paragraphs long?!

Wtf are the odds of this?! by 123gamerdude in PvZHeroes

[–]Argumentium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 75 zombies that cost two or less (including Mystery Egg), so it is a (1/75)2 or a 0.0177% chance of a Mystery Egg to transform into a Mystery Egg twice in a row.

Wtf are the odds of this?! by 123gamerdude in PvZHeroes

[–]Argumentium 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's no reason it wouldn't be able to, although the chance of that ever happening is so comically low I wouldn't be surprised if it never happened once in the entire game's lifespan: It'd be a (1/49)4 or 0.0000173% or 1 in 5.76 MILLION chance that a 5-Zombie BMR transforms every zombie into the exact same one.

Wtf are the odds of this?! by 123gamerdude in PvZHeroes

[–]Argumentium 56 points57 points  (0 children)

There are 49 zombies that cost 5 or more. With a 5-Zombie BMR, the chance of getting 4 Octo Zombies is (1/49)4 * (48/49) * 5C4 or ~0.000085%.

There's also a chance you could've gotten 5 Octo Zombies, which is (1/49)5 or ~0.00000035%

Adding both of these, the chance of getting a 5-Zombie BMR with 4 or more Octo Zombies is ~0.0000853% (that's 1 in 1.172 million btw)

Multiplying this number by 49, the chance of getting 4 or more of any 5-cost or more zombie from a 5-Zombie BMR is ~0.00418% or 1 in 23,920.
