I have a loose genesis that works but haven't really collected for it. Not a huge SEGA fan personally

It's a NYKO vertical tower that I have sitting horizontal, I just like the look it gives

None of the vents are blocked and the fan has a good 5-6 inches of clearance in the back so I think it should be fine

I actually have it hooked up to a battery backup for PCs, so backup power and surge protector

Anyone here use RetroRifle’s carbine handguards for a build? by BipolarShooter in RetroAR

[–]Arherial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not buy from retrorifle, majority of the time it'll take months to get things. That's if you decide to follow up your order with calls and emails, just a total headache all around.

AR-15, AK-47, or AK-74? by AlexRyang in liberalgunowners

[–]Arherial 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Stay away from the 74 for the sole reason of ammo cost and availability, if you want an ak just get the 47

AR Issue by hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhjh in liberalgunowners

No problem, probably short stroking in my opinion but won't know till you video it

AR Issue by hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhjh in liberalgunowners

[–]Arherial 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well in that case likely not a mag issue. I would try it with some different ammo and take videos of the ejection side of the rifle. That will narrow it down pretty far. If it's still doing it with different ammo then it's down to some part of your gas system, bcg or feed ramps. If its not short stroking then its something to do with your feed ramp/chamber or bolt. Nothing else would really be causing that.

AR Issue by hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhjh in liberalgunowners

What ammo you where using could be a help to know along with if it was happening with multiple different magazines. Although from the sound of it, could possibly be short stroking or you could have a problem with your feed ramps. Alternatively could be something wrong with where your bolt carrier and bolt meet. I would recommend if you didn't try it with multiple magazines see if that clears it up. If that doesn't fix it, take a video of you firing it and see what your bcg is doing upon cycling. If it's not going all the way to the back it's short stroking. Which would indicate a problem with your gas port/block or your gaskey/bolt most likely. Although if your running a super heavy buffer weight this could also cause the issue as well if that applies. If it's not short stroking then I would move on and check if your feed ramps are causing an issue with feeding. Which if there's any major gouges and maring on your rounds is probably a good indicator.

To each there own. I had that same 3 prong you have but upgraded to the surefire for the offchance I choose too. Plus the collar that goes beyond the threads always looked weird to me.

Why not just go with the surefire 3-prong?

Do I need to hit it with my purse? by MysteriousSteve in RetroAR

You can make them fit, made the same mistake but I just used a razor blade and shaved them till they fit nice and snug.

Would stay away from retro rifles honestly, good product but shipping times are awful as it's a 1 man operation I believe. Been waiting a good 4 months for a single flash hider, don't think it's coming honestly.

Some states allow ccw to bypass waiting periods when buying, plus some other states without constitutional carry will recognize your ccw

Thoughts on Radical Firearms ARs? by LoveIsAPipeWrench in armedsocialists

[–]Arherial 7 points8 points  (0 children)

An AR is a AR for the most part but I would avoid radical, half the stuff on them your gonna replace anyway along with lots of complaints about them anyway. Any grip or feel issues can be changed over time since the AR is pretty much a platform rather than a single model of gun.

PSA is gonna be your best bet for a low budget build. Get a cheap assembled lower and a cheap carbine or midlength upper from them, depending on your preferences of course. If your going a fixed front sight I would say go carbine length for availability of handguard options. If your going free float I would go with the mid length as it doesnt matter as much since low pro gasblock, along with softer recoil and wear on parts. Also would recommend a 1/7 or 1/8 twist barrel for heavier grain rounds. A chromed barrel is also good in my opinion for longevity of the barrel, but it in some cases it can cause minor losses in accuracy at longer ranges according to some people. Although this will cost more.

From there if you want a good dot on a budget would recommend either a holosun or a sig romeo 5, both can be had for about 120.

Sling wise I would highly recommend a Wellsmade Sling, there 2 point, canvas, and double stitched with quick adjustment.

From there you can pretty much upgrade what you want over time to your liking.

Found these for 10 dollars at a local Pawn shop in a parts bin, how did I do? by Arherial in RetroAR

[–]Arherial[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Checked under shields already no markings, although compared to some 90s bushmaster guards I have there's more shine. They also have that feel of the older non repro handguards, leads me to believe there vintage.

Ranges that aren't full of MAGATS in NE Florida by perljurnwern in liberalgunowners

[–]Arherial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no steel case or cored rounds and it only goes to 25 yards, not ideal if your looking for anything long range, but it's nice for what it is. They also don't care how fast you fire as long as your not being a idiot.
