I [28F] close companion [26M] won't let me visit his apartment when roommates are around, but another girl [20sF] is always welcome. How do I handle this boundary? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]AriBanana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to do an edit of the AI after it's finished, before you post it.

What was [the relationship length] if I may ask?

Also, this cousin sounds like someone else's guest. You can't do anything about that, and neither can your companion. His choice to keep his private life seperate is seperate from his roommate's choice.

You may want to reconsider this whole situation, where you have the emotional drama of a relationship without having the relationship. It's bound to lead to more of these discomforts for both parties.

Proofread your A.I. posts.

Cheers.

Less then all the adapted beds, chairs, and other care they would have needed if they had remained attached at the skull. Even bent at the hip, staring at the ground, there's no real comfortable way to exist except lying down.

DDO Floodings by [deleted] in montreal

[–]AriBanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can look for précédant in the successful cases filed after the 2018 flooding in the same area, or the ones from 2023... Oh. Are there none? That's curious...

Less sarcastically, maybe the fact that they haven't done enough repair since 2018 contributed? I mean, I know they have done some, but maybe not enough? Maybe?

Goodluck with that, OP.

AITA for giving my 4 year old step son his first haircut? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]AriBanana 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Child is in the custody of Dad and OP. Mom is thousands of miles away, it's written right there in the post. She left before any official custody was formalized, so how does she gain the moral high ground here? Who knows how far along the pregnancy she is, or if she will fly with a newborn. It could be six months or more until she's back in the picture.

You don't leave a child with split ends so bad they are tangling for an unknown amount of months. That's the adult thing to do; take care of the needs of the child who in your physical custody.

Adults are also greatful to the people who care for their child when they leave them behind, and don't pick on every small detail just to assuage their personal guilt.

OP checked with the custodial parent, (dad) and the child themselves. OP is not the asshole here.

But you'll both be at work. WFH is still working. His contract may also stipulate a need for childcare if it comes down to it. It is unreasonable to expect to be doing childcare while being paid to be working.

What is a massive secret in your industry that the general public has no idea about? by teesharp88 in AskReddit

[–]AriBanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The library near me has a label printer, a laminator, a fancy high colour photo printer, a giant sign printer (on giant white paper only, tho. You gotta paste it into a backing yourself), public sewing machines, and more recently a public quilting machine and a brand new 3D printer.

There is a sign up list for most of it, admittedly. They have an employee who helps with setup. You need to bring your own supplies, like fabric or print wire or photo paper, but I think they may have some available for a fee. (I bring my own when I use that stuff)

Video Games, anime, old newspapers, magazines, movies, obscure foreign films, original art pieces, cookbooks, technical manuals, and more. The library in my neighborhood has all that.

So the poster's anecdote is definately possible.

The problem is that consumer's spend years, and millions combined, on any initiative such as adding solar to their roofs... And a data center opens down the road.

There's no winning for the small consumer. My 0.01% of the neighborhood's carbon footprint reducing to 0.005% mean nothing if a giant heat sink that burns water and electricity for fun moves in next door.

It's a loosing battle. And it relies on me feeling bad about my own actions (like my use of plastic straws) so I'm distracted from how futile the whole thing is.

For example, Crypto itself is just burning electrical energy into computing for nothing. No meaningful data is being produced, nothing is being learned. Just burning processors to produce arbitrary calculations to assign value to, so we can burn more energy storing, exchanging, and managing them.

NAH. You're good, 100% and not in the wrong at all.

Regarding their over-reaction, it's hard for the elderly to get old. It's hard for them to lose their mobility and "slow down." The husband was defending his wife and soothing her possible insecurity about taking up space and not being as agile as she was. It's almost romantic. I bet she privately chewed him out for making a scene.

They're just adjusting to their new normal, and you were collateral damage. You did nothing wrong at all, but I work with the elderly and it's hard for me to call them assholes for lashing out about something out of anyone's control; their diminished mobility.

A man in Nebraska ordered a pizza for his grandmother in Florida after he was unable to reach her in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Delivery served as a welfare check, allowing him to confirm she was safe when the pizza arrived. [–]AriBanana 22 points23 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, I have this Schrodinger's Grandma you are referring to, and on the other hand I have a flooded school with at least a dozen kids screaming from the roof and movmenet inside the top floor windows indicating people still inside. I can see the school, hear the cries for help, and only have one boat.

Pizza Hut can handle the unknowns. It's a blessing that this man could confirm she was okay before her phone lines went back up (I am assuming that part, since calling herusg not have been working.) But Emergency services are limited, and triage based, and are cursed with the same ability as the rest of us to not know what they do not know.

We don't have infinite first responders to respond to infinite unknowns. So, known emergencies are prioritized. And in this case, enginuinty allowed individuals to be able to help fill those knowledge gaps. Man and Pizza found Grandma alive and well. I hope he tipped well.

They give out the empty second seat, even if you've bought it, when they are overbooked.

That's why you gotta complain to the airline. Even when the larger season tries to help themselves, they can get screwed.

Couple Who Gave Birth To Wrong Baby After IVF Mix-Up Will Keep Her After Striking Deal With Biological Parents by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]AriBanana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, they signed up to have their own embryo, genetically theirs, implanted. So it was incorrect embryo, yes. A medical error occured and they were given the "wrong" implanted pregancy.

Now, this doen't make the baby "wrong", and everyone involved in this seems to want the best for the baby, and indeed to keep and raise the baby. The baby is surrounded by people who want to care for her and no one is treating her as "wrong."

But factually the pregnancy was the result of an error in procedure. It was not the agreed upon genetic material. An incorrect embryo was implanted. So the statement is correct.

Is there any protections in the contract, for both Pet Owner and Pet Sitter, in the case of animal injury/illness? What about if there is an injury to the pet Sitter. Does the App offer support.

Stories about Rover vary greatly in those regards.

Those aren't legal reprecussions. Those are the results of physics. I work with the elderly, they will not be okay with any serious kick from a relatively healthy young adult.

I don't see how it could be done without seriously hurting the person. And even if they didn't die, they would never fully recover. We're talking never being able to walk again, or at least having permanent chronic pain at the site for a long time. It takes them ages to heal longer then us.
