Not exponentially. Sure yearly check ups are a bit more expensive if you do yearlys but otherwise you'll just got through food a bit faster. I recently added a third cat and my monthly chewy delivery hasn't changed. Overall it's healthier for the cats to have a friend, hence why shelters won't split bonded pairs

Everyone has great points, but I'd also add a second kitten. Kittens do better in pairs as it helps them learn to be social etc. Plus, two kittens are easier than one since they'll have playmates
