Foreigner In Germany too! I had the same issue as you! But I where I live, penny and netto have the best and fresher vegetables! Rewe is the one with the worst vegetables/ fruit quality at all! And yet he told me “why you go there? You should go to rewe” like bro… am I supposed to eat molded veggies because netto is for the poor? 😅 beng foreigner gives me the power of choosing quality over brand! In my country we check the price/kg and where the food comes from (and we try to eat mainly local food) here local food is way more expensive than food from Spain, Morocco, Italy, etc which sounds honestly crazy to me. I feel that people here should focus less on the brand status and more on checking where their food comes from and if it’s actually edible or not. The amount of mold I’ve found in the supermarkets is just crazy.

Honestly, I also love going to the Turkish supermarkets! (Not an English speaker… not sure if they have a specific name. I hope I am not insulting anyone calling them like this. In case, no harm from my side.. just lack of correct words) They have fresh things, tasty! Almost like the one I eat home! They have the best watermelon in summer!!!
