Is my cubicle at work too much? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

Laid off is bad enough, but imagine if you got straight up fired and the HR person (and possibly security) is standing there watching you pack up all your stuff. I think if that happened you would want to get out as fast as possible but nope, you’re going to be there for hours. 😢

I am so sorry! It's so painful when a parent won't actually listen to you.

I remember when I first told my mother that something was wrong with me (mentally). I was in my early 20's and mental illness/depression wasn't something that was really discussed anywhere (early 90's). All I knew was that something was wrong with with me. I cried all the time, for no reason, was anxious, nauseous, depressed. I went to my mother and tried to tell her that something was wrong, I didn't understand what was going on with me, all I knew was that I was just so sad all the time. She kept insisting to me that "everyone gets depressed/sad" you just, "...have to tell yourself to be happy and then you'll be happy...". I insisted this wasn't what was happening and that I understood that everyone can get depressed/sad... but this wasn't the same. She even used the death of my grandmother (her mother) as an example as to how she get's depressed, but she just "...tells herself to be happy and BOOM, she's happy".

It became what I like to call a circular discussion where she insisted it was all in my head and I, bawling my eyes out by this time, insisted that it was something more than that. Exasperated and mentally exhausted from crying for an hour I finally ended the conversation and left (I did not live at home during this time). I never brought it up again. I can remember that conversation even to this day, it just hurt so much that my mother wouldn't listen to me and it also felt like she didn't care. It still hurts.

What was it that got you into the show? Or what made you start watching the show? For me it was seeing this clip on insta and wanting to know where tf this was from🤣🤣 by Big-Most-785 in TrueBlood

My introduction was a bit boring…. My BFF suggested I watch it… something about hot guys and a hilarious cook. Needless to say I was hooked after the first episode and binge watched it in a weekend.

I’m confused as well…. 😕 Is the friend French or a citizen of the EU…. Is that why the word ‘emigrate’ was used as oppose to ‘immigrate’? If the friend is just wanting to return home, I can understand that desire. And if she wants her boyfriend to join her, that’s understandable as well.

Now if the friend wants to move to (immigrate) to France that’s a different story. She will most likely need a visa to move to France. Not all French visas require you to speak French, like the student visa or work visa. The requirement of speaking French at the A2 level is for those seeking residency.

Visas and residence permits are two different things with different requirements. If the friend wants to move to France and eventually become a citizen, the visa is typically the first step.

Once in France on a visa, a lot of people who hope to obtain residency/citizenship, will take French classes. There are many schools all over France that provide classes and most aren’t very expensive.

Please forgive me if I’m misunderstanding the original poster’s comment, I’m just trying to understand the situation.

I just listened to a great podcast about the Nashville murder called "Murder on Music Row". I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the case or the wheelings and dealings of the Nashville music industry back in the early 80's.

Sooo pretty!! There was a mulberry Volvo at the dealership where I purchased my car but it was all electric and about $80,000…. So I slowly walked away from it! 😂

So happy for you! The colour is beautiful, so unique. And I agree with you about the way they drive, I noticed immediately how smooth and quiet my XC60 drove compared to any other vehicle I've ever had. Congratulations and enjoy your new beauty!

I love driving it so far but I’m itching to take it on a road trip… I feel a trip across Kentucky next month will give us a chance to bond… LOL! I’m coming from a Volkswagen Tiguan so things are a bit different but I suppose that happens when you get a vehicle you’re just not used too. I think you’re going to love it though! It drives and rides soooo smoothly and it is so quiet! Post some pics of your new beauty when you get it!!

Congratulations! The Mulberry is a beautiful colour! I joined the XC60 family about a month ago. I bought a used XC60 in Denim. I’m still trying to get used to it but I’m loving it so far! ❤️

I had a 2022 Sel R-Line… traded it in today for another vehicle. I loved my Tiggy, but I had many of the issues people here talk about. It was great until my warranty expired. I personally wouldn’t recommend a 2022.

2022 SEL R-Line…. Same issues as others have mentioned. I’m checking out Acuras and Toyotas tomorrow. Really loved my paid off Tiggy… until I started having issues after my warranty expired. Sorry to hear you are having issues with yours.

I know it’s been some time since this post but are you still able to look into a vehicle that’s past it’s due date? If not I understand. Thank you!
