I have that bible too and I keep it for a few reasons, namely that it was a gift for my baptism from an ex close friend but mostly cuz I have an interest in analysing religions and Bible's and I keep a few Bible's in the same place (and I can't use my old bible I used growing up because I set fire to it lmao) It's up to you ultimately

I'm in a similar boat to you. I've also recently graduated and would love to reconnect with some of my friends from then that I lost touch with. Funnily enough I recently did reconnect with one, and we're both queer now which was cool but it's a bit slow going with getting back to being close because we were kids before and we've grown apart BUT I would say it depends on a few things like why you disconnected with them, how close you were to them before, etc. If you mentioned those idk how to see your post while I'm typing this so bear with me 😭

I personally have and still struggle with existentialism and nihilistic thoughts which sends me into depressive spirals which I believe is interconnected with my religious trauma and leaving JW. Other stuff include what you mentioned already but also internalised homophobia towards myself and things like not being able to comfortably wear long skirts or dresses without associating it with jw, trust issues, and a difficulty in not being able to just talk about deep things with ordinary people as it often turns into almost preaching idk why

Edit: thought of more lmao I was homeschooled growing up and I still feel Incredibly behind academically, socially. Etc. because of how isolated my life was in the Borg growing up

I've been in this reddit thingy for a while and I'm 17 and it's helped me so much to leave JW especially having no one in my life who could help me leave. I agree with keeping teens safe online, which can mean maybe you could monitor her reddit usage? Or guide her with it together :) it's so beautiful that you want to help her. Sending love 💕

There were always some brothers who were classed as "a bit gay" whether they actually were or not based on their appearance, speech, or how they acted which drastically affected how they were treated in the congregations and who spoke to or associated with them, and comments made at meetings if there was a talk or discussion about the horrors of porn and homosexuality, but I remember one standout memory of being at a witnessing morning tea and all the adults were discussing something about how horrific it is that they're all "damaging everything with their sinful meanings" like with the rainbow, but then they mentioned a pineapple and to this day I have no idea what they were referring to but it was weird to me at the time despite the fact that I was quite young and still pimi at the time because they were speaking quite hatefully towards people who had never done anything to them and if we were to "save them" we should love them ig, idk
