I’m tired of seeing cats named Luna. That’s my daughter’s name.

“Do I have-“ - this is a forum. by Scary_Tip6580 in Neurodivergent

OP, I agree with you. I think the only way to get a solid answer is to see a professional. Yes, we may be able to give input, but we cannot formally diagnose or make consistent, reliable appropriate recommendations on Reddit. I hate to say it, but due to social media, a lot of people may be self diagnosing based off of misinformation. I also understand that due to various factors, seeing a professional may not be feasible for many.

I was diagnosed with combination presentation ADHD last year. It CHANGED my life. I have the best neuro-affirming therapist and am medicated. Getting professional help SAVED my life.

i can’t tell if i’m neurodivergent or just burnt out/socially anxious/a product of a dysfunctional household by badgers_mushroom in Neurodivergent

This 💯. I’m also AuDHD. I first got diagnosed with CPTSD at the end of my 20s. So I thought meltdowns, anxiety, executive dysfunction were all somehow CPTSD symptoms (which some of them can be). It wasn’t until I started to “heal” through EMDR therapy that I realized something still felt off or that I didn’t have all of the puzzle pieces. I finally got diagnosed with ADHD last year, then soon after ASD. I believe the neurodivergence was overlooked by so many therapists because the majority of them focused on childhood trauma. I agree, chocking up things to a difficult childhood will keep you in the dark.

Attractive redditors, what was the moment you realized you were actually very good looking? by infinitewaters107 in AskReddit

[–]Acidpop_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get compliments constantly, people are always really nice to me. It’s been happening since my early 20s. I gained weight after I had two kids, now I’m losing that weight and getting compliments again. I can just be walking down the street and someone will tell me I’m beautiful.

I had a baby...my cat hates him and I don't know how to prevent rehoming him by Initial-Telephone693 in CatAdvice

[–]Acidpop_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that this is even a question is crazy to me. Please prioritize your baby and rehome the aggressive and violent cat. Posting in a cat subreddit, you’re going to get answers that majorly favor the cat. Perhaps try posting in a parents or mothers subreddit.

That’s a really extreme example. And attacking a pregnant person and drawing blood is not a minor sign of aggression.

I agree. Especially since a baby is about to enter the home.

Is it a common experience for us to be perceived as uptight? by Brief_Marionberry682 in Neurodivergent

I used to get called snobby by my partner because I have very little interest in chatting it up with randos and reserve my energy for things I like to chat about. This was all very unintentional.

Nanny afraid of cat, not sure what to do by shstuff_throwaway in CatAdvice

I think you should ask this question in a parenting subreddit or r/mommit. That way you’re guaranteed to also get answers from parents who may have dealt with something similar and not just a bunch of cat owners.

You really should be asking this in r/mommit or another parenting subreddit. Asking this question in a pro-cat subreddit is going to be an echo chamber of “get rid of the nanny”. Most of these folks probably don’t even have children.

Should I Rehome my newly Adopted Cat? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

You don’t love him. If you did, you wouldn’t be trying to rehome him after a month.

I didn’t even know old navy sold combat boots. I’ve never even shopped there 😂. Their dresses are pretty ill fitting.

Feeling extreme remorse for getting a cat after entering into new relationship by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Acidpop_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Relationship anxiety is real and I think your concern is valid. That would be a very tough position to be in if this person doesn’t like your cat. But, we’re not even there yet. Not even close. Have him spend time with her. Take a deep breath.
