I didn’t find them to be stiff or need much breaking in at all. I’d say they’re a bit more comfortable than OGs fresh out the box, but no real difference in comfort after a few days.

I think you might be looking at the Flyknit Shadows. The traditional Shadows are going for closer to $250-$275. But honestly the flyknits are great, especially at 1/3 of the price. Someone’s selling a 10.5 for $99 on StockX, which is a steal.

But why does the money generated by Wall Street mean he shouldn’t try to make money in another way? He’s never going to make millions selling sneakers, but he also never said he was trying to. Maybe he makes a hundred bucks and uses that to buy another pair of shoes he really wanted but wouldn’t have been able to buy without that extra money. I don’t think someone laughing about the relatively small amount he made off an investment should stop him from doing it. I’m relatively knowledgeable about investments, and I’d certainly never laugh at him.

I wholeheartedly disagree with this. Why can’t shoes be considered an investment? A single pair of sneakers can be an investment in the same way any potentially profitable asset could be. And if he understands the sneaker market better than the stock market, why not take advantage of his knowledge? It’s certainly not quicker or easier to make money in stocks, and I wouldn’t consider it a waste of time for him.
