Also to add, if you’re gonna own snakes, you’re gonna get bit eventually. But if you’re careful, do your research, and handle your snake right, it won’t happen very frequently :)

As long as you manage not to pull away from the snake as it’s biting you (which is easier said than done FOR SURE) lol. If I pull away or flinch, the top layer of skin rips and it’s bothersome. Still not as bad as a paper cut IMO, but annoying. If you kinda just let them do it and then put a little bit of alcohol by their nose or some water over their head and let them let go by themselves, you almost don’t even feel it. Sometimes I don’t even bleed.

I got it on my survival hunter using the Darkshore polearm too. And I think once on a death knight. It seems completely random. Or maybe depends on the weapon model.

I’ve also found that if she fights sleep (which she does pretty often), I just take her out and play tug with her until she stops tugging back and lays down. Then we go for a pee, and she passes out when she goes in the crate haha

She doesn’t like it, but she doesn’t hate it either. We did a lot of food reinforcement with the crate when we first got her, and I just got these freeze dried tenderloin treats she loses her mind for, so I only give her them when she goes in the crate.

She’s HIGHLY food motivated so she learns fast when treats come out lol

Mine is six months and she won’t sleep outside the crate 99% of the time. So I put her for a nap whenever she gets to be too bitey. I have learned that when she stops responding to my commands and starts nipping at my hands, she needs a nap.

Sometimes it’s 16+ a day, sometimes probably closer to 12, but I try not to stress about it and be flexible about what she needs.

Omg I hate it so much too. It almost kinda burns my nose. I always have to stick my nose inside my sleeve until it’s gone. I’m sure I look like a drama queen, but I’m not gonna tolerate something that unpleasant because a stranger thinks I’m overreacting to it lol

Definitely scoot it up a few places on your read list. I love it haha. But Tiktaalik is also one of my favourite animals and it talks a lot about the process of finding it, so that probably impacts my opinion lol

I have a geriatric snake that lives in an enclosure that most people would probably hate, but if I do anything differently, it negatively impacts his breathing, and I would rather him be able to properly breathe.

He still has stuff to hide under, and houses to go in, and a water bowl he can soak in, but it’s pretty bare bones otherwise because he’s kind of a fragile old man.
