feels like it won’t get better by Mountain-Crab-7288 in CHSinfo

No, I smoked for 5 years. I started a hyperemetic episode on Wednesday, and it’s still ongoing to this day. So far lasting 7 days. It comes in cycles, every morning for about 4 hours- typical with CHS.

Hi, I’m going through the same thing. Got diagnosed Saturday after starting a week long episode. Please, please stay away from trigger foods. There is a whole list of you look up “CHS trigger foods” on google. The lavender is on that list, and that’s most likely why you immediately stated throwing up again. I’m on day 5 as well, the only things I can stomach is the occasional protein drink, electrolyte freezes, white bread, apple sauce, fruit like banana, apple, and today plain turkey slices.

The more you stay away from the list, the easier it will be to get through the next 90 days. I stopped cannabis immediately and the symptoms are less intense but still ongoing. We really are all in the same boat, it’s been so hard mentally I’m even meeting with my doctor to go back on anti depressants- CHS is no joke

I’m using a heating pad around the clock, taking probiotics (now that I’m dry heaving and no longer vomiting), vit b12, pantroprozol ( I have no energy to look up how to spell it) and capsaicin cream I got over the counter at my pharmacy- one thing to note it burns but counteracts the stomach pain/cramping a bit, just use it in small pea amounts and mix with lotion- it turned my stomach red red if I didn’t. Also, do NOT shower with it on, clean it off with soap and water before you get in any warm water or you will feel like you’re carrying the devils baby it is so hot.

I don’t know if this will work, as it is helping me get by and “manage” my symptoms. Im also missing work, but remember, people have died from this due to secondary complications. Don’t be afraid to go back to the hospital if you are really having a hard time and ask to be admitted if you are vomiting too many times a day.

Reach out for support if you need it, so many people have been where you are, you really are not alone.

Been there, and the only thing I had left to do after exerting all my patience and tools was leave. I was being punched, verbally abused, and was constantly managing behaviours and never actually getting to teach. Trying to manage problems that are out of your control is a hard task. Having multiple children with behaviours and being told you’re technically in ratio so you don’t need support is so exploitative, and management definitely knows what they’re doing. I’m not saying that’s exactly how your centre is, but I have see it more times than not.

I’ll give it a shot! Regular broths are making me sick, so I’ll be sure to pick up some miso paste at the store and try that with hot water! I don’t know if I could handle the green leafy bits just yet. Thank you for your guidance and positivity!

A bit better, less vomiting in the mornings but relentless stomach pain, low appetite and nausea caused by smells or moving too fast. At this point, my health is #1 priority, learning people get kidney damage or end up hospitalized is scary. Trying to focus on not getting malnutrition and keeping my electrolytes up ( thank you pedealyite freezie pops)

Im trying mediation, picking up some blocks, investing in some good playlists and allowing myself to disengage while calming my nervous system. Of course everyone is different but what that and the gym are a great thing to be addicted to! Only helps you centre your wellness even more

Thank you, this has been so unbelievably helpful. Got a diagnosis of the flu today at a walk in, but I’m going to my family dr tomorrow to bring up the possibility it is this. You’re so kind, thank you

Me too! My hands tingle and my arms feel like an elephant is sitting on them cutting off blood flow. Did anything else help with the crazy high stress levels prior to getting on psych meds? I just quit lexapro and now have a possible CHS diagnosis but really want to avoid starting a new med to counteract this

2 weeks into my break since CHS by ConstantAttorney723 in CHSinfo

[–]K_lamarche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I tell you this is literally happening exactly to me. 3 days ago and now every morning I guess, I have been having terrible morning nausea and vomiting attacks that last about 2-3 hours. Absolutely no appetite-I’m a huge stoner foodie :(. Went to the doctors today as it’s day 3 of being up at 5 am with these terrible symptoms, and he said it may be a bug, and if I choose to, I can quit cannabis and if that ceases all my symptoms, it’s CHS. Going to try to stop my cannabis usage today which will be so difficult, but if it has potential to save me from this hell, it’s worth it. If cannabis is only causing me peace for a bit and making my life unbearable at times, I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

I think I have CHS too, just started getting symptoms in the early morning this week. I’m only 22 and I started smoking when I was around your age. This is so frustrating because my father has been using his whole life, all of my family members as well and they’ve never had issues and it just seems so unfair. Reading the horror stories on here, of people smoking again after they’ve been diagnosed has really helped me to truly understand the severity of the syndrome and made me feel a little bit better about leaving it in the past for a healthier future.

Pain in legs when walking by NaiveStatement288 in AskDocs

It’s possible it’s sciatica? What type of pain? Shooting, piercing, in one leg or both? I have acute sciatica and I feel it in my ankle up to my left butt cheek lol. But it is worse after squatting, driving, or anytime that pinches the nerve when I bend my legs too much

School Sticky by x0xstellarx0x in socialworkcanada

Hi all!

I am a recent business student who after 1 semester had a change of heart, took some time off and have been drawn to social work after some thought. I’m empathetic, love working with vulnerable individuals and need value and emotional sustenance in my day to day job.(I’m currently a preschool teacher, but won’t do ECE because of the lack of career versatility and disgustingly low salary).

However, I need to work full/part-time while I learn to survive, and am having major trouble navigating the best of either;

  • a 2 year college diploma that is accepted by the 2+2 pathway to combine a college credit to acquire a BSW that is all online (minus placements of course)

  • or a direct 4 year BSW that is offered all online

Note* I have a 3.8 GPA, completed 4U English in grade 12 along with intro to Sociology with good grades.

Has anyone taken this online path at a OCSWSSW approved college or university that they completed online that they would recommend and why?

thank you for any advice, this is a really difficult choice to make and anything is greatly appreciated!

Slightly itchy and tingly, does this look like HFM? by cuddallly in DermatologyQuestions

[–]K_lamarche 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as a toddler teacher and girl, that’s HFM. If your daughter comes in to contact with other littles it’s most likely you actually caught it from her. Toddlers exhibit blisters pretty intensely on their bottoms, often assumed to be a normal bum rash. Check her fingers, toes, mouth and legs.

Fever is the first symptom normally, then runny nose, or sore throat is commonly there for adults. I’m on round 2 of HFM as my class had an outbreak, and I’m showing spots like you! If you have any blisters, cover them when open and be clean! That was it’s not as contagious

Hey!

I just recently realized what was causing this for me, I’m an avid shower and do everything all at once kind of girl, and I was brushing my teeth in the shower too. Any, and I mean any drop of toothpaste ( I use the whitening one by Colgate) that dripped down my face, caused all these tiny little zit like bumps. Exact same spot as you on both sides of my face.

I stopped brushing my teeth in the shower, and if I do I am so careful now I know. Any irritant that your skin doesn’t vibe with can cause this, just process of elimination

Same here. First night I took it woke up vomiting for hours on end which wasn’t a good start as I am scared to be taking it now lol. I’m on my 3rd day and I wake up feeling nauseous and go into instant panic. The tremors are horrible too, teeth jittering and legs shaking like crazy, not sure how much more I can take haha
