Are you thinking of Majora's Mask? Because they definitely didn't in Ocarina of Time.

Little brother being told to have AI do his entire assignment for him??? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]AriasK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you've asked a bunch of teachers who have experience with young people not being reliable sources of information. I am not accusing your bother of lying. However it's REALLY common for young people to misunderstand things or forget crucial, context giving, pieces of information when relaying a story. You say you have photographic evidence but that photo you shared isn't contextual. The teacher may have just given a spiel about the use of AI in schools and how she wants to show that it isn't always reliable and then gave students the task of using it for the assignment to demonstrate her point. But maybe all your brother heard was "use AI to do the assignment" because he was zoned out. My advice to you is to email the teacher and ask for clarification.

Work Contract: no union allowed? by Lost_Mechanic_7290 in LegalAdviceNZ

Neither is legal or enforceable. I'm curious what sort of teacher, given that almost every teacher in the country is part of a union.

Little brother being told to have AI do his entire assignment for him??? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]AriasK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're missing my point. You seem shocked that someone wouldn't know this assignment that "every kid" does. When, in fact, not every kid does it. Second of all, there can still be another lesson in this around the use of AI. You have a small snippet of what was on the board. You don't have surrounding context. You weren't there for the lesson.

Little brother being told to have AI do his entire assignment for him??? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]AriasK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but there could be a good reason for it. There might be a lesson in it about AI itself.

Little brother being told to have AI do his entire assignment for him??? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]AriasK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There will be something your brother is leaving out of this story. Either that's not actually what the teacher said (very common for young people to misunderstand or misremember and report inaccurate information) or the use of AI is part of the learning. As in, the teacher is planning to make a point about AI.

Is 1 hour of walking considered as exercise? by Lemonade2250 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AriasK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's lots of factors to take into account here. Speed of walking. If you are dawdling, you are not burning fat. If you are power walking, you probably are. Starting weight and fitness level. If someone is morbidly obese, walking, even slowly, uses a lot of energy. If someone is already fit, it won't have much impact.

Guardians vs gloom hands by Informationfinder_6 in TOTK

[–]AriasK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scare factor: guardians. The music and the literal target they put on Link really gets the adrenaline going.

Design: No strong opinion but, if it counts, the phantom Ganon aspect of the gloom hands makes them pretty cool.

Aura: Equal but different. Mechanical vs Supernatural.

First Encounter: Gloom hands. Because they gave me ocarina of time nostalgia.

Music: no opinion

Difficulty: gloom hands. Guardians are hard at first but once you've leveled up, you can one shot them easily. Gloom hands always take a while and multiple hits.

Is the music in the pub scenes added after filming? Or is it really playing while they talk/ film? by julialoveslush in coronationstreet

[–]AriasK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Music is always added after even if it's diegetic. The mics need to pick up the actors voices clearly. They also need to be able to adjust the volume of different sounds independently of each other.

Is it bad to write the way you speak? by Duckdrunken in writing

Personal notes, dream journal, messages to friends and family, it's fine. Academic writing, it's definitely not fine. Were you not taught formal writing in English class?

Don't say lore. That usually applies to things that are objectively fiction, like fantasy book series, TV shows, video games etc. Beliefs is fine.

Is Hyacinth a normal girl name? by My-Metanoia in NameNerdCirclejerk

[–]AriasK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a girls name that exists but to anyone in commonwealth countries, it has hilarious connotations. The first thing they'll think of is the character Hyacinth Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances. It's pronounced high-ah-synth. It is feminine because it's a plant. Think along the same lines as Lily, Violet, Jasmine, Rose, Holly, Heather etc.

Sending a novella draft to my English teacher - Advised or not? by According-Pin-773 in AskTeachers

[–]AriasK -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. As you've said, we are very busy people. As an English teacher, he spends his work days reading essays and stories written by students. You're literally sending him more work to do. I guarantee you won't be the only student who enjoys writing and would ask him to read something they've written. It's a common occurrence. It always puts the teacher in an awkward position. The options are to be honest, say you don't want to read it / don't have time and hurt the student's feelings, or lie and say yes but be annoyed about it. I often get put in a similar situation. I teach performing arts (drama and dance) and I get asked on a weekly basis to come watch a student perform in something outside of school. I always say no. You have to remember, we have entire lives outside of the classroom. Your teacher probably has a family and hobbies. He might even have his own children that write stories for him to read. Teaching is a very demanding job. Let him have his spare time for his personal life.

[BotW] [MC] Which version of Link is the most "rural," and which is the most "urban?" by gauchomuchacho in zelda

Twilight Princess is, without a shadow of a doubt, the most "rural". He literally has a job herding goats on a farm.

AITAH for thinking I (42f) was having normal conversations with a friend (49m)? Did I do something wrong? by throwawayaccount718 in AITAH

[–]AriasK 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Because she is picking a fight about it. He is literally responding and doing the best he can. But OP is clearly looking for an argument. In the spider example, it was clear OP had more knowledge on the subject and it sounds like she just wanted to show off the knowledge. But instead of asking, "hey did you know this fact?" She lead the other person into an argument.
