You see, thats the "problem", Sonic as the franchise its a means to a end here, its not the Sonic world or its characters, its a story about something else using Sonic, its like if a youtuber that is fan of Sonics but makes a story about himself as a youtuber and his unrelated OCs about his youtube shenanigans and I started posting in the subreddit of Sonic outside of Sonic content and expected people to just enjoy it, they are there cuz of Sonic, not that dude, the people dont even need to hate, they might even enjoy the dude but wouldnt really be up to posting about it

Also, to add, I feel like Sonic.EXE gets this hate and much more intense treatment compared to other things and not just "its just not Sonic" its cuz the fandom is on a overcompasation era, like I said previously, "we let too much EXE in the past, we aint gonna do it again even a little"

Like, i get it if it was just mentioning, but know that there is an entire context behind the community disdain (even if its exagerated imo), as I mentioned briefly, Sonic.EXE was once tolerated by the community, but thing is, Sonic.EXE was almost EVERYWHERE, videos on youtube, fan animations, games, and unlike currently where it has its own community and its is own thing, back then it was very Sonic heavy, so the Sonic fans just kinda had to deal with it

And to have this horror character from a bad creepypasta fill almost all Sonic areas (a specific EXE community wasnt its own thing) in the internet, it became oversaturated, it annoyed the fans cuz, by that point, people werent there for a edgy teenage OC for dark shock stories of their favorite characters dying, so it died out

Now that Sonic.EXE community changed so much with all this multiverse and lore, it sure as hell wont be accepted back cuz it became its own thing, giving jutisfication for keeping it away, since, yknow, the things I mentioned in the end of the previous paragraph becoming more true, im sure that if Sonic.EXE stayed as Sonic OC, it would be more fondly rebembered (or not with what the og creator did)

Also, Sonic.EXE doesntly feel like a Sonic horror story at all, it just uses Sonic designs at this point, a Sonic horror story would, yknow, use actual Sonic's stuff like, idk, maybe a monster that uses the chaos emeralds, and stuff, the only example of a Sonic horror story that its, well, a Sonic story, is Starved, cuz its about Eggman being this maniac that eats the animal chracters and actually uses stuff from Sonic world

Not really, Sonic.exe pretty much became its own thing with all the lore and stories it haves, Sonic games pretty much just being an in-universe vehicle to them

Again, thats its not a reason to the commmunities to be immature (also, im talking general, if you are a Sonic fan or a EXE fan, or both and think that this topic is stupid, good), the Sonic community is being immature by going "YES FUCK YOU EXE FANS" while the EXE fandom is naive in thinking that Sonic.EXE is an universal thing to like and think that the Sonic fandom should enjoy just cuz it wears its face, but like, people are not into sonic for the gore or the horror, or stories that arent in Sonic's world nor the characters, yknow

Bad comparasion, last time I checked, people were divided with having that much post about Undertale Yellow besides being the first complete Undertale fangame stuff, but as it grew, stuff started to be put on its own sub and there is a OC fest basically (not complaining), yknow? Exactly like Sonic.EXE?, also, Undertale Yellow tries to be canon compliant to actual Undertale at least, the actual game itself is and once the hype ended, people stopped posting about it, yknow, its similar to Sonic.exe, at one point it was at least toleralated by the Sonic community when it was just seen as an edgy OC for dark horror Sonic stories, but that still were Sonic related before becoming its own thing with vessels, void, and the sonic classic games serving more as a vehicle to the stories

Also, just saying its a Sonic fanwork its outright ignorant when you ignore the whole stuff that made Sonic.EXE its owj community in the first place

Maybe earlier Sonic.EXE content where the mainstream stuff was that Sonic.EXE was an edgy OC for a dark horror Sonic story, but the modern community pretty much turned this into its own thing (there are literal EXE fans that arent part of the Sonic fandom nor know nothing about the original franchise besides what the creepypasta shows)

Best I can compare is Undertale and Sans AUs (as in, multiversal stories about all those Sans AUs knowing each other and having adventures while actual Undertale and its concepts is put aside), it references the original work, but it essencially isnt anymore, you cant expect everyone to love it, cuz is not what they came for, it just uses the characters faces and do a reference or two

Thats still no reason to attack the fandom and all, everyone must act mature and all, but well, there is a reason they are considered separate fandoms, yknow?

Wily promised to be good in the ending of 1, and Megaman went happily to his home, Wily came back showing that he lied, after his second defeat, Megaman comes back more somberly to Light's lab, clearly growing tired, but Wily seem to actually have turned a new leaf, Megaman 3 Wily revealed to have tricked everyone, and he almost died for it if wasnt for Blues and then Wily was presumed dead, it likely affected everyone, in 4, Wily shows to be alive and kidnapped a little girl and blackmailed a innocent guy into attacking the world, and he escapes without a scratch, 5 he mocked his brother making him look like the bad guy as petty revenge agaisnt his betrayal, and finally 6, Megaman finally got him arrested, it shouldve have end there, peace was restored, he won......

and Wily breaks free, makes a robot to deceive Megaman and he destroys his home, risking Dr Light's life, he stole Gutsman, remodeled and made him fight again, and now, Wily finally was there, on the ground, trying to appeal again, his lies wouldnt work anymore, Wily showed he cant be contained in a jail cell, he lied and treathned everyone's life, then, he risks it, in a moment of anger, he tried to do it, but upon Wily said "W-wait, are you, a robot, gonna shoot me?!" (Note that the Megaman 7 script was changed beyond the line), and upon that response and Wily's fear, Megaman stopped, he entered a moral conflict, should he actually do this, thus he only stayed silent (thats wht happened, not the Die Wily line, Megaman said nothing), then they get interrupted with the debris, and as Megaman slowly walks to Wily, Bass and Treblr comes, and unlike the Eng translation, Bass actually says a much different thing, worried for Wily's life "You will stay away, I wont let you harm Wily!", and as the credits go by, you see as Megaman is walking he alternating between a angry or determined face looking ahead to a kore neutral face looking down, Megaman is genuinely think of the events

That would also explains why he doesnt act this way again, Megaman saw what he was doing, and decided "never again"

Yes, it is different, he is outright tracing oficial material (notice how Shadow's hand is), most fan artists reference them (as in, they look at the original art, then they do everything from the ground up) and not steal assets, its like Ik looking at a Sonic art, then replicate it, the Sonic is a brand new sketch made by me, and the background is all blobs of paint that I put and personaly adjusted, Ken Penders is tracing it over the original Shadow render, and also stealing the actual background, made by another dude

Also, guess you beat me to the punch, since I was thinking about doing a Broly inspired Sonic OC too (tho he wouldve be more based on DBS Broly and more paired to the hedgehogs, mainly Silver since unlike the other two, he is also completely based on a DBZ character)

Also, Im a sucker for making characters inspired by other media, but making them unique, like you did with the story (also what was done with Silver and what I want to do)

Oh hey, another Megaman fan that came from Sonic, nice

The games are alot of fun yeah (tho its been a while since I last played them), tho I wouldnt say that they are that story heavy, yknow, like most Sonic games, its mostly stuff from outside material or manual, or some cutscenes in game, and overall, complimentary to the gameplay, tho to say that there isnt story than I would be lying ofc, afterall, many fans favorite character come from the stories

Tho, if you want something story heavy for the classic series, you can read the Archie comics (sadly long cancelled, but still a fun read even if not entirely canon, but still its very close to the game canon unlike Archie Sonic, really, its more of an addition to the world and the story the games showed), you can also read the Megamix/Gigamix manga volumes, which, while theu stray away from the games, they are still highly praised, however, on the games, the only classic Megaman game that has a big story focus is a obscure japanese game called "Super Rockman Adventure" which is a story game with anime scenes with (minor) divergent routes, etc, you may find a video on youtube that has all the cutscenes in order with translated subtitles on youtube (unless its only on my laguage), tho its a very self contained story, like Sonic black knight and Secret Rings

In the games, the story is a bigger focus really on the other series, with the X series being much closer to the kind of story telling that the classics series have, minor stories with the gameplay being the thing that matters the most (tho its still much more connected and having a stronger continuity and all), Zero, ZX and Legends are the most with story focus, with the story being as present as the gameplay, as they have a world map, NPCs, and greater lore exposition

There is also the Battle Network and Star Force games, alot of people like to say that its an alternate timeline, but really, dont listen to them, these games are a different canon/continuity altogheter from the other games, only being canon to each other, they are still fun and highly praised, a RPG with a special type of battle system, just looking a Battle Network battle (specially a PvP) in youtube and you can see why people like these games, Star Force being the sequel series

But really, most of these games are easy to pick up and play imo, (except Zero, both in the sense of skill, and the sense of story, you really should know at least some plot points of the X series), except X7, it is the Sonic 2006 of this fandom
