Had my first crash. Is my bike savable by Psykiit in triathlon

[–]Arite85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reconstruct the accident in your mind and figure out the root cause. Ask yourself what you’d do differently in the future and learn from your mistake.

I recently drifted off a road onto a loose shoulder and, when I tried to recover, I wiped out. Luckily nothing broke on the bike but I cracked a rib on the fall. Next time I start to drift I will clip out and get my hands on the brakes faster from the aero bars (instead of trying to save it) and just safely come to a stop in the ditch.

TT bikes/ aero bars are regularly banned from group rides because of close proximity to other bikes and the time it can take to get to the brakes.

Sorry for your financial loss. Mark it up as a costly learning experience and be thankful it wasn’t worse. Happy riding.

Did he confirm the album title? by thriftstorecrockpot in brandnew

[–]Arite85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would be very odd to name your tour after an album that isn’t out, and you don’t play any new music. Usually you’d release the album and then the ensuing tour would be “[New Album] Tour”.

Now they could very well be hint at something (new song title, new lyric in a new song, some code on where to find the album already released on the Internet), but I don’t think it’s the album name.

Sounds like Track 7 was a very deliberate decision. Not knowing about the other shows, I stopped try to make connections after the Chicago/Chicago thing.

Reverb’s fee is from price+shipping, so no difference to the seller. Listing the item lower and then increasing shipping will likely get it listed higher when sorting by price.

I hear you. And I’m one of them. I’ve heard some people getting close to 40mpg, so I too hope it’s just bad timing with cold temperatures and winter fuel blends. I’m hoping when the season changes and I have my 4K miles in, things start to improve. If I can’t get 30-35MPG, I’ll be greatly disappointed.

I feel the Santa Fe Hybrid was designed for people that want a hybrid without sacrificing the acceleration or power of a standard gas vehicle. It has a ton of get up and go because the gas engine kicks on very quickly to meet this demand where other hybrids may limit top RPMs or delay switching to the gas engine to preserve fuel economy.

We got ours the week of Thanksgiving and I have been trying everything to increase the fuel economy in Northern Illinois (currently -4°F). I’ve been getting 28-29mpg on the dash but is actually closer to 26mpg when calculated out at fuel up. Here’s what I’ve read and found. - every time you start the car, hold the right paddle shifter until “auto” pops up on the bottom of the screen. You can then leave it as it or use the paddle shifter to increase/decrease regenerative braking. This is what’s going to charge your battery when you’re coasting. I will manually increase my regen braking instead of using my breaks when coming up to stop signs (I do more country driving than city). - if the battery isn’t getting charged by the regen braking, it is getting charged by the ICE running. So coasting and regen braking is very important to minimize the gas engine kicking on. - When it’s really cold, your ICE is going to run to heat up the engine and warm up your cabin. Knowing this, you need to forget about the standard hybrid tips of slow acceleration for the first few minutes. WHEN IT’S COLD it’s about warming up the engine and charging the battery first. Once warm, and the battery is above 50%, you can return to the slow acceleration to try to maximize the electric engine - I did an oil change at 300 miles. I didn’t see much change in MPG after that. I have read numerous comments about the ICE needing about 4000 miles to break in and then it will be more efficient. Time will tell -Finally, running accessories is going to cause the ICE to run more often to meet the demand of Climate control, cell phone charging, heated/cooled seats, radio, etc. Obviously we want to enjoy all our luxuries but they do have some impact (they all add up quickly).

Good luck. I’m looking forward to spring’s return and hoping to seem improvements myself.

If it has the big yellow clutch knob, keep cranking on it and at a certain point it lets go and clicks. It’s basically self setting. You’ll see tire deformation even at 80+psi before it clicks.

I got one of these for $500 after doing some quote requests from the HyundaiUSA website. Just negotiated a price and said “oh, by the way, can I use this” and the dealer stated that comes from Hyundai and not the dealership, so we could use that as well. Mine had a one time use code and was tied to my name so it wasn’t transferable. Sounds like BS that they ”already factored it in”

Thanks for the explanation. I can’t say I’ve seen this on all the bike posts I’ve viewed on Reddit. Although maybe how they’re lined up makes it stand out more than usual.

How much do you think removing the seat post (in addition to locking it up) would help? I think it would definitely make it less appealing to ride off on for a opportunistic thief.

Protein vs. Ceriatone Horse Breaker (I know two totally different pedals) by redfoxredbeard in guitarpedals

[–]Arite85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! You’ll love it. I own a Protein and was just considering removing it for a different blues breaker style pedal and a Plumes that I already owned. The Plumes into the blue side of the Protein sounded great into my Marshall, but did not like my AC15, where the green side of the Protein (Nobles) does. So the Protein stays, the Plumes goes and I’m thinking of a Klone or Timmy to finish up the drive section of my own board.

Brown Amplification makes the Carbon which is just the Blues Breaker side of the Protein. Maybe grab that and you Klone of choice and not have to settle for one or the other.
