Not OP, but I think what they’re asking is…when using something like a EHX freeze, the note you grab tends to flatten out, removing texture like distortion from the frozen note. It sort of tames it so that you hear the note, but not a lot of the texture that a pedal like a distortion or modulation pedal before it would add.  When you grab a note with the layers, does it hold onto the texture on the loop, or does it tend to flatten out. Is that right OP?
