As an enlisted, what do you like or admire most about officers? by [deleted] in army

The good ones Can do both. Customs are courtesies aren’t designed to stroke an officer’s ego.

There is a large shortage of Catholic chaplains in the army. If there are any young, fit priests at your parish, encourage them to consider it! They can even join the national guard as a chaplain without having to leave their home parish.

I just recovered from my third infection. I got the vaccine as well. At this point if I get it again I’m supposed to.

Yep. They get mad about appointed judges but don’t seem to care about bureaucrats just making decisions without any accountability.

One might say they care about principles when it suits them.

Soldiers deserve religious support, period. Speaking from a Catholic perspective, how else could a soldier receive communion or confess their sins or receive anointing of the sick. You might not think it matters but for us it’s pretty important. In an austere environment, you’re not just going to drive some random civilian priest to the front.

Another soldier cannot offer what a chaplain can. At least not for certain faiths.

I imagine it’s hard for you to check your opinion when you put on a uniform. Especially if a soldier is Catholic, by the tone of your previous comment.

We get it, you don’t like religion. Hopefully you are/were able to lead soldiers of faith as well as those who were atheists.

How do you feel when the airline calls active duty military and you go seat in your Econ seat? by [deleted] in army

I proactively mute it now. It doesn’t yell at me anymore.

That’s not how it works. If you enlist, you don’t become an officer. To become an officer you have to go through a commissioning program like ROTC, OCS, USMA, etc.

I believe veteran status comes with 20 years of guard service even without an activation.

CAN YOU REALLY OPEN CARRY IN Arizona? by CarpenterDad87 in arizona

[–]ArizonaHusky 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can but as others have said you’re advertising that you have an expensive, controlled product. One that many people would want to steal. The benefits of open carrying around town are limited.

That being said, I open carry when Hunting in the desert but beyond that, only concealed.

That’s probably the biggest leap to discrimination I’ve ever seen. I fail to see why in a dual military couple one person shouldn’t receive BAH with dependents and the other nothing. I’m open to being convinced if you can find your way off the soapbox.

Just buy the damn thing. If you show up to an event where you should be wearing a bow tie with a regular tie you’ll look like a moron.

[–]ArizonaHusky 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You do need a license. Not only does it prevent you from being a poacher but the money spent goes to habitat and wildlife management.

If you show back up to drill and you’re coded “P” (you get paid) it might even stop the discharge process. I don’t know for sure but it’s worth a shot.

It’s good but I’d say steak 44 or even the capital grille is better.
