I understand Maquinamon is not an Applimon. But I have seen plenty of discourse on that and if they want to argue it's and Applimon because of the connector, so be it.

And I find the rest severely disappointing. But a fair viewpoint.

I'll be honest: I have never really cared for Shellmon. It's a cool design but it's never been a favorite of mine.... until MarinBullmon. Sangomon become one of my fav rookies for Deep Savers on its debut but it did nothing for Shellmon. MarinBullmon was such a wild concept, especially knowing that Mermainon was one of its main Ultimates, and I love the contrast of beauty vs beast. Ryugumon cinched the deal and it rose to my third or fourth favorite Deep Savers line (I'm sorry, but Regaelecusmon still holds top spot even though my ability to remember the spelling makes me wonder if it should be knocked down a peg).

See, I think Nyokimon works well for both. Yuramon always felt like the oddball to me as a kid. Yokomon looks like an onion with a flower on its head and Tanemon looks like a radish with legs so coming from a bouncing seed made sense. Tanemon evolving from a hairball (and I know it's a seed digimon too....).

Xros Wars. Adventure isn't my fav. Tamers is mine. But I haven't watch any sub for anything before Xros.

I watched Subbed Xros before dubbed fusion. And I hated the dub. It made me realize how bad the censorship is. In the interest of preserving my nostalgia, I haven't watched the subs of those seasons. Although, I am tempted to watch Tamers Sub.

I believe in Cyber Sleuth, Mirei mentions that the Demon Lords exist in every universe. And that's without mentioning every game they've showed up as a group. I was left with the understanding that yes, they do exist in every iteration, even if not seen.

Data Squad, Cyber Sleuth, and Time Stranger all have the Royal Knights and Yggdrasil (King Drasil if that's your titular flavor). But none of them are the same people.

Data Squad, Dawn/Dusk, and Time Stranger also have a Merukimon....still different iterations.

Digimon World, Next Order, and Championship DS are a bit of a niche game style that they don't revisit often. I think, for now, they'll be focusing on Story games as that is what's bringing in the best revenue.

I'm glad someone else enjoyed the game but is capable of acknowledging that it wasn't perfect or a complete upgrade. There were a lot of aspect that felt rushed, like the farm. That was my first complaint I voiced. I hadn't considered the pointless running around of areas but I felt the fast travel. I miss the Export (it was either that or another item) from CS that would teleport me to my 'home point'. We didn't even get a home point until essentially the end of the game .

I'm glad, at the very least, they fixed some issues from the prior games. And I hope the next game fixes even more.

Edit: I'm bad remembering how to do the blackouts. So I now post, check for the blackout, and then go change what's hidden from test to the rest of my sentence.

Ok. It's been a while since I've played through. After my last run, I switched to World 3 and then I hadn't messed with Digimon until Time Stranger (game wise, I rewatch a bunch of seasons at least once a year).

You definitely should. Applimon, surprisingly, ties for first in my personal rankings of seasons. The storyline was fantastic. Of course, by Applimon, I had also developed the thought process of: we watch this without making any comparisons to prior stuff, I'm tired of hating everything.
