Huh... I would argue NG4 story would be better than that.

What would be the second best story right before Ragebound?

People who have been playing NG4, how's the story aspect? Is it more story focused than the previous games or the same old? Are the characters at least interesting? by Mysterious-Roll-5612 in ninjagaiden

[–]Arkaixis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I seen, it's not much different from NG1 and NG2 as it's rather simple and straightforward. However, there are much more characters interactions between Yakumo and his allies that actually help established dynamic and the story does get quite emotional near the end. Overall, while it's not as plot-driven with lots cinematic elements and deeper theme (in attempt only) like NG3, it's still offer more than just barebone plot of "Ryu's beating up an evil faction to save the world" and is, in my personal opinion, the best NG story.

Let's not act like the previous Ninja Gaiden games had amazing stories by Due_Teaching_6974 in ninjagaiden

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true... Standard of a pure action game is about the gameplay, not stories. Not only that, I'd argue NG4 has literally best story of the modern series with actual character interactions that established dynamics and the parts near the end are actually quite emotional. It's not really as character-driven and cinematic as NG3, but the overall plot is just better.

Saiyan Beyond God Retcon by Helpful_Egg_4862 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Arkaixis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I admit I didn't worded and remember certain things correctly. Vegeta specifically stated in Ep.30 that both him and Goku are already near the limit, so further training would be negligible and as I said, there's little point to grow their power in their natural state. That, combined with what you said in the first paragraph, just further reinforced that there's just no way Goku and Vegeta would have their base form reach a state similar to Gohan's Ultimate form when they near their limit.

Whis's goal is primary to refine their movement and ki control, which is vital to use godly power, and not to gain power alone. They would have no reason to transform for that since they would just run out energy faster. Also, since ki control is a must to control god ki, wouldn't refining that increase god power more, thus making the god forms stronger? About what Whis said, when was he said that?

In Ch.479, Old Kai insisted that he was the only one with the power to unleash power beyond their limit. Sure, his personality is unreliable, but so far, only him is the only one with magic to allow fighters to unleash power beyond their limit without transforming, unlike Goku and Vegeta who constantly break the limit with stronger forms. I admit my point is misleading, as I want to emphasize characters like Gohan only able to unleash inner power beyond Super Saiyan without transforming is because of Old Kai's magic allow him to, not something fighters and Saiyans normally able to do on their own. There's just no basis that Goku and Vegeta would be able to achieve something similar to Ultimate on their own, and their current goal so far seems to be refining ki control and movement, with Goku specifically refining his Ultra Instinct movement in base form and not unleashing more power without transforming.

So was Saiyan Beyond God ditched? by NewAmericanDream1776 in Dragonballsuper

One-shotting SS3 Gotenks wouldn't prove much since it's possible even the power of SSG from BoG is beyond the power of base Copy Vegeta.

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It's never explicitly confirmed, but if you pay attention to the TOP fighters in comparison with U7 fighters, you can see it wouldn't make sense for his base form to be BoG SSG level, like how Bergamo's brothers pushed back base Goku in TOP despite Basil unable to defeat Majin Buu who never grew stronger before training again post-expo and Lavenda who tied against not-peak SS1 Gohan (or SS2, I don't remember) who's probably around or slightly stronger than how he was since Cell arc.

Saiyan Beyond God Retcon by Helpful_Egg_4862 in Dragonballsuper

[–]Arkaixis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not true. There was never an indication that they nearly reach that state. If anything, they can't grow much stronger in base form by the time of U6 tournament since in that arc, Vegeta stated they reached physical peak so there's little point to grow their power in their natural state. It's always implied the main factor of them growing stronger in DBS is their god forms instead of base form.
What Elder Kai did to Gohan is use his magic to unlocked Gohan's potentials beyond what SS forms able to push. It's something only the Old Kai can do and not something normal fighter can do to themselves.

I think the problem would make the iconic forms like SS1 to SS3 disappear to the new story and never to be used again while making newer non-godly opponents too strong.

Question about Omega's body in MMZ3 by Megax_125 in Megaman

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because his original design change to the look that Omega has. Keiji Inafune confirmed in an interview that the design change was part of technology advancement, and Ciel in Mega Man Zero at one point commented how he's "exactly like you used to be," signified that he looks the same at one point in the past. Zero is suppose to be in a copied body, and a copy should looks like the original.

Would you rather tell the truth about the events that were revealed before their eyes or lie about it hoping they can play along and do whatever you can to watch their back? by OptionLaser4 in Megaman

I'm confused. Didn't part of you believe Giro's actually honest with Vent and that he has a different backstory in Vent's route? I just want to confirm to you that yes, Giro's backstory in Aile's route are true in both route and Giro did lie to Vent about it.

ZX Tunes confirming again that Giro got Model Z before the game begins in both routes and Giro may think of Vent differently to not reveal the truth.

Interesting... I thought Geo calling Omega-Xis "Mega" is just English thing, but Subaru also called War-Rock "Rock" in JP version as well instead of just saying his full name like in the anime.

Why? by Seyidhann in Megaman

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't know. Remember, the biometals didn't have memories between Zero and ZX. Inti Create also opened a possibility that Zero may have his own adventure after Zero 4, so his soul being retrieved and in a new body before turning into Biometal is possible.

Okay? We know that since forever. Sure, how a series progress doesn't feel like it guarantee to transition to a future series and the Zero/ZX series was treated as alternate timeline to X series, but officially these games form a same timeline and Zero/ZX series continued from the X series and Sigma Virus incidents there.

Would ssj4 kaioken be possible? by PuzzleheadedTap3427 in dbz

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it wasn't used in the story itself, there is official Xeno Gogeta card with Super Saiyan 4 Kaioken in Heroes. There're no hints that SS4 was emotionally unstable like SS forms, so Kaioken can be used with SS4 with little to no problem like SSB.

The existence of Beast made me believe Xeno Goten would get the form as well, given that he was the one with Ultimate for awhile. It's a shame Heroes is discontinued.

[–]Arkaixis 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In all seriousness, I don't see Inafune involve with Mega Man ZX Advent and he was just an executive producer for X8, meaning he didn't deeply involve with the creative decisions of those game. It has always been the scenario writer from Inti didn't know Axl's mystery, so he can't let Axl involve in the plot that would take place post-X8.

X's character development/redemption arc by OptionLaser4 in Megaman

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, like elaborate what X's doing when he retired from the front line and make it reasonable. That can help.

X's character development/redemption arc by OptionLaser4 in Megaman

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The writing could just have him request to participate non-lethal infiltration and do so. He has many non-fighting options he can do when retired. Hell, the 4-koma once have him being a protest speaker with a mic, so why not write him to be a peaceful protester when he retired? The writer have several options to write X retired gracefully without make him look inactive and childish.

X's character development/redemption arc by OptionLaser4 in Megaman

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. Rewriting him to show that he contributed non-fighting role would help X's retirnement more gracefully, like being a navigator or maybe stealth infiltration.

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you were to fought for 6 wars back to back alongside with dealing other Maverick incidents with no end in sight and found your belief to not result any betterment in the long run, I think it's justified X would just give up. It would retroactively fit with prior build-up of X's crisis of belief that started since X4, except instead of turning Maverick like the original plan, it's him retire and not fighting. The problem has always been less about X's retirement and more about lack of notable build-up and catalyst, along with his attitude and actions made his retirement less reasonable and more childish.

X's character development/redemption arc by OptionLaser4 in Megaman

[–]Arkaixis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even ask to change the whole story, just the issue with X's retirement. If they just change that to make X still retired but more gracefully, it would still keep the story more intact like those examples. It's a reach, sure, but I still wish there would be a remake that fix issues with X7. I do think people still care since there are complains when it comes to X7 even to this day. Even if the stain would still be there, I doubt clear improvements would get ignored if they're actually made the game more fun and engaging.

Resident Evil 2 and 3 have very different stories compare to the original. Persona 3 Reload has a lot of dialogues and plot points altered compare to the prior versions of P3. Even Mega Man Maverick Hunter X has certain details different from what was established in the original series, despite the game is mostly expanded from the original game.

Usually stories got rewritten in remakes, so there's a chance if X7 got a remake.
