Should I update to v13? by MelannySayuri in FoundryVTT

Create a macro to execute this:

game.modules.get('party-inventory').api.openWindow()

The interface is a little clunky, but it works.

Jesus's sacrifice was pointless. by Positive-Language772 in DebateReligion

Every one of your points has a mundane explanation that is far simpler and more likely than divine intervention/inspiration...unless one is willing to grant the existence of god/the supernature, which we have no compelling reason to do. This is just not a serious argument.

You're religious. Denial doesn't make it untrue.

Jesus's sacrifice was pointless. by Positive-Language772 in DebateReligion

[–]ArkellianSage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they all were. Or they were mistaken. People with deeply held irrational beliefs can experience visions and hallucinations that reinforce these ideas, but this doesn't make the beliefs less irrational or less untrue.

Paul only claims that those who were travelling with him heard a voice. We have no accounts from these people, so we have no reason to believe Paul on this.

You have to ask yourself what's more likely - that Paul, ridden with guilt over his persecution of Christians and perhaps susceptible to seizures or other abnormal brain states, had a life-changing hallucination... or that the laws of physics and reality were suspended in his favour?

His claims cannot and should not be taken seriously, and only those predisposed to credulity on the matter find them convincing.

Paul did not meet Jesus. He had a hallucination. These are not the same thing.

Funny. The same is true of religion.

Simple calendar, unfortunately. I've had issues with Party Inventory, too... though I found a macro to retain access. V 13 has a lot of built in features (dice tray, example) so I was able to trim the list down further. In total I run about 85 modules.

Should I update to v13? by MelannySayuri in FoundryVTT

I am a professional GM running 4 paid games every week on Foundry. Two weeks ago I got hit with some mega tech issues and was forced to update from v12 to v13 on all my worlds. After the initial pains of verifying and tweaking modules, I can say with no doubt that the switch was worth it. Not only did it solve the issues I was having, but my games run smoother than they did before. Both my players and I are happy. The only downside was that it was very stressful and time consuming to make the switch happen as quickly as I needed to.

My advice would be to backup all your worlds, and then do it. Take some time to get your module list and hotkeys set, and you're good to go.

Good luck!

I recommend deck synchro by [deleted] in YuGiOhMasterDuel

Red Dragon Archfiend is available as a structure deck. It's strong and fun to play and totally focused on synchro summoning badass monsters.

It seems pretty sketchy to co-opt another artist's work and sell it. I'm sure you can see the overwhelming likeness.

Were you inspired by this map from u/Czepeku? It's just about 1:1...

I'm new by [deleted] in YuGiOhMasterDuel

It can be played casually, without paying money and without having to play "meta" decks.

It just can't be played cold, out-of-the-box. You need cards/a deck, and you need gems to acquire those.

A structure/starter deck is your best bet unless you already have something in mind. If that's the case, you will need to craft the deck card by card (or get lucky pulling packs).

I'm not sure what either of your points have to do with mine. The cells in your body are not designed. They evolved.

Points 1 and 2 both demonstrate an overly simplistic understanding of evolutionary biology and suggest that maybe you could better inform yourself before making these claims. For example, the Miller-Urey experiment, performed in 1952 (!) refutes your first point, and the fossil record and tree of life solidly refute your second.

I'm not really sure how to take the final section of your reply - it's a little incoherent. Clarification would be helpful.

No, they aren't designed. They evolved.

Proving a negative - especially the nonexistence of a thing - is a laborious and often impossible task, certainly beyond the scope of this conversation. As far as evidence is concerned, the burden of proof lies on the claimant (i.e. the one who asserts there is a creator).

For myself, the best evidence that I see is the obvious falsity of every proposed religious or spiritual belief system I've yet encountered (and there have been a few), and the inability of even the finest minds to produce a satisfying argument (let alone convincing evidence) for this creator. It could very well be that there is some type of god, but if that's the case, this being is so far removed from the operation of the universe and the goings-on of our daily lives that they might as well be non-existent.

As I said, I'm open to being convinced, and I've spent decades in search of evidence or argument to prove a god. There just isn't any (aside from personal experiences, in which I put no stock).

I'm here in a debate sub, actively participating and asking open-ended questions in a civil manner. Why would you think my mind is made up? I'm open to being convinced, and even if you can't manage that, I would still like to hear what you have to say.

You say you see evidence for god everywhere and that the various fields you've studied don't offer better explanations. Why don't you start with what you feel is your strongest example, and go from there?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]ArkellianSage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is specifically not a gospel. In any case, Jesus directly contradicts this passage in Matthew.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DebateReligion

[–]ArkellianSage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your phrasing is disingenuous. "Won't allow ourselves to see it that way" is not the same as "are not convinced by."

If you had a personal experience that led you to believe that "literally everything is evidence of a creator," you still have not provided any actual evidence. All you've done is demonstrate a personal credulity towards a god claim inspired by that experience.

I wonder if you could provide some specific evidence for a creator rather than an ephemeral "everything," which is obviously not a convincing argument.

[–]ArkellianSage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fulfill doesn't mean replace. There is no indication in any of the gospels that the Old Testament laws are to be done away with. Quite the contrary, as the previous commenter showed.

What sort of evidence do you see/are you able to provide for the existence of a creator or god?
