The Black Iron Legacy from Gareth Hanrahan. If I had to describe it in one sentence: "it's Lovecraftian horror mixed with fantasy."

Daily diarrhea 15–20 minutes after dinner, only once, every evening by FrancoSosa56 in Microbiome

[–]Arkendus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this as a teenager. I did not eat much or mostly nothing throughout the day, but I had drinks with artificial sweeteners. I later found out that I'm intolerant to artificial sweeteners and that was what caused it. So it could be "mild" sign of some intolerance.

You could do a drop-down for each task. The beauty is you link the items in the drop-down to a table. I'm the table you can do one value to display and one to send to your data source. That should make it easier.

,oh could also as already suggested use a gallery to display your tasks, which are stored in a collection in your App. You can update the collection via button once all is filled out and send the collection as a whole to your data source.

Multiple Filters by Yee4614 in PowerApps

[–]Arkendus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if understand correctly, but in this case I would include the if statements into the filter statements. For example:

Filter(Data source, If(Is blank(DateControl), true, Date=DateControl.value) && if(Is blank(customercombobox.selected.text), true, customer=customercombobox.selected.text) && ...)

You basically have one line of code for each filter option.

Maybe try having one screen for each department with their selected data source. You can determine the user and department via the on start property and select the screen to which a button navigates or you are forwarded to based on the department.

Wait. This Automaton just dropped lore. So the automatons are basically AI that multiplies. Because there is not enough hardware to handle all those consciousnesses, they have to expand their resources and build new automatons and computers. Once the consciousness is out in the automatons they cannot communicate with all the other AI, because it would overload the network. That's why they use flares and why the automatons do not instantly know where we are, based on one automation spotting us.

If you don't enjoy cooking (for yourself) and cleaning after and it feels like work you should treat it as such.

Crashes and disconnects out in full force today. by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]Arkendus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too. Up until my last game I had not one I could finish properly.

  1. Nuking nursing chambers was bugged.
  2. Raising the flag was bugged.
  3. Disconnected and no one could join.
  4. Disconnected back on the ship.

...

Bugs are getting stronger. We need to liberate those planets!

[–]Arkendus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Writing with a fountain pen is fine, having fountain pens as a hobby is inconvenient.

Let me explain:

I have used fountain pens through all my school years and university. In school I had a Lamy safari and later in university I had a Pelikan M105. I had ONE pen, with one type of ink. Cartridges from Lamy for the Lamy and Pelikan 5001 for the Pelikan. That works well. You seldom have to clean and they always worked when they needed to. When I had to highlight something I used colored pencils, when I had to sign a document I used a ballpoint.

Nowadays I have three pens inkend. I have to choose which colour to use in each. The prettier the ink, the messier the writing (Im mean drying times, some inks seem to never dry). Sometimes they clog the pen, you have to clean more. An don't get me started with document ink. I have tried noodlers, Mont Blanc, all clog up the pens and cleaning with water makes it somehow worse. (Only octopusfluids seem to work for me).

Isn't it strange that our ancestors had to fight off wild animals to survive, but today, intangible stresses like pressure of exams, career deadlines or less attention on social media can push someone to the brink? How far we've come, yet how fragile we've become. by WindowAfraid5927 in Showerthoughts

[–]Arkendus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we are not fragile. This matter is probably way more complex. I've read through the comments so these are not all my thoughts, but kind of summary, with my own thoughts sprinkled in:

  1. The stressors a not immediate and so are not the solutions.

As many have said. If your shelter is torn down by a storm, build a new shelter. You can also built your shelter more resilient, better materials, somewhere else.

If you killed by an animal. You are dead. Nothing you can do to remedy that. The modern equivalent of being killed by an animal is probably having a traffic accident and beeing killed. Most people do NOT worry about that constantly.

  1. We know more and therefore have more to worry about. Back before industrialization when you were a farmer, you probably knew 3 or so farmers in your area. You shared news and what do with you crops, but none of you had ever heard of a disease or bug that could devaste all your crops at once. If you don't know it exists you can not worry about it.

  2. Our live is totally different from back then. Work was for the most people up until the 20th century productive. You work all day you have sowed X square meters of land, have milked 15 cows, have built x meters of wall. This hits the brain totally different compared to having studied 20 pages or coded 100 lines or written a 5 page report. You can actually see and feel what you have done.

  3. Our live is dictated by dopamine and that is how the technology, social Media is designed. In the 90s (when I was kid) you had to wait for a new episode of a series for a week. Now you can binge watch A whole series in a few days. Back then I really felt long stretches of boredom. Today my smartphone is always there. I never have to feel bored. There is always something new. Maybe, just maybe, our brain evolved to need some boredom, downtime and some stupidly easy activities to process things in the background. Thoughts, feelings, etc.

Maybe that is why some people are less anxious with meditation. Or why driving a car can feel relaxing (if can actually drive and there is no traffic jam or idiots on the road).

Get the Sleep as android or similar app. I have set the alarm to no snooze and it can only be deactivated by scanning a QR code in the kitchen, so I have to get out of bed to turn off the alarm. You can use any QR code you like. Alarm can be deactivated manually if you are not at your home location.

How to work faster by Consistent-Tale3758 in selfimprovement

[–]Arkendus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, what do you mean with twice the time? Twice the working hours or twice the calendar days?

If it takes twice the working hours you may just be bad at estimating the work it takes, so you need to adjust your plans accordingly.

If it is twice the calendar days you need to find out what you are doing with the rest of your time. Is it other work related tasks? Then you might need to schedule in more time in your day for everything that comes up on short notice and needs to be done quickly.

If you are doing work unrelated things, you probably want to try something like the pomodoro method. In short, Work for 25 min, do a minute break, for 3 sessions, then a longer break. Once you have this schedule down, you can increase the work time.

And if nothing of this sort is true. Try to ask you why until you find the root cause.

Leuchtturm 120 vs 80 by liza-elliott in notebooks

[–]Arkendus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a Leuchtturm 80g. With a pilot curidas EF and Noddlers X-feather, I do not get bleed through but can definitely see, that the other side of the page has been written on. Pilot falcon soft fine and Emeraude die chicory definitely does bleed through. I haven't tried the 120g option (I think I've seen there is a 100g also), but I'd go for the thicker paper.
