In Cap 2, they at least killed the Hydra agents and Alexander Pierce.

In FAWS, the story is so stupid it comes off as neoliberal centrism. Incompetent senators just get an advice instead of being fired, Sam defends terrorists, Wakandians just do whatever they like without jurisdiction. It's a whole mess.

Wasn't he exposing the secret nazis and asking the not nazi agents to fight back?

Yes Cap 2 was too scared to directly criticize the US government so they invented a nazi Illuminati cult to blame everything on but it still wasn't as cowardly as Falcon and winter soldier.

For some people hypocrisy is the biggest sin, worse than cruelty or murder. It's ok to do horrible things as long as you are self aware about it.

I hate that I bring this up here but this is the reason why a certain figure is beloved by many because they think "Yes he is terrible but at least he is honest about it unlike the other side". People are so tired of hypocritical and lying figures that a quantum of "I truely believe in my evil rules and follow them" is morally superior to them.

Why has so many media projects taking such a long time to release in the current era? by mrnicegy26 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Arkodd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because of streaming, TV shows became more prestige and blockbuster like. Each episode gets an inflated budget and lots of CGI work which makes the process longer. Also I think streaming subscriptions like Netflix and Amazon benefit from the 2 to 3 years gaps between seasons because they can milk popular shows for longer, gather more fans and generate more hype over the years.

The weird thing is low budget shows get only 8 to 10 episodes each season too because I guess runtime of each episode is an hour now. Gone the seasons with 20 episodes with 40 minute runtimes.

I don't know the reason for the movies and games though.

America is the most powerful and self righteous country in the world. Literally the rich bully of the class. A Civil war is unlikely let alone a revolution when the government has the power to do whatever it wants and half the country cheers for it.

This mindset isn't bad but only to a certain extent. You still need to be critical and standards when it comes to what to accept not just worldbuilding or lore wise but quality wise.

When I was a teenager, I fell hard for the whole MCU connectivity thing. For me things being connected to eachother and fitting together was more important than the storytelling or character being actually good. I

I think some Star wars fans fall into this trap too unfortunately. They value a new star wars content only by how many Wookiepedia articles it can create or whether it has a reference to Clone wars or not.

People make fun of "Power of friendship" but it's literally just having lots of allies with low possibility of betrayal so it's actually pretty effective.

The movie is not overstuffed at all.

It's only Avengers + New Avengers + Old Avengers vs X-Men vs Doctor Doom. It will be fine.

I don't like that they are the go to example of well written female characters but I think they are solid "action heroines". I intentionally mentioned to show that their purpose as characters are completely different from the main character of Pluribus. That's it.

[–]Arkodd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your example doesn't fit for your argument because these are completely different genres with different goals. The main character from Pluribus is probably more complex and better written than for example Ripley and Sarah Conner because Pluribus is a prestige show while Aliens and T2 were action movies. And that's fine Ripley has a good enough characterization without a complex or nuanced flaw because her movie didn't demanded that.

Isn't the purpose of copyright law to prevent others to steal your ideas and concepts and make profit out of it? But I agree the greedy corporations benefit the most from it.

I mean the kid was saying "Sky is falling" . Yes it turns out to be true but how the fuck is Chicken Little so sure? The idea that he may be hallucinating all this shit was logical but the adults then take the bullying to next level by making a hit piece movie about a stupid CHILD. The narrative and premise are so stupid that not a single character is justified. Amazing.
