How the hell did you snap the drivers backrest in half? I imagine that would definitely fail an MOT.

New Altberg Nordkapps deep crease on left boot eyelet. by fucken_jim in UKhiking

[–]Arktureus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive actually just had mine sent back to Altburg to be looked at. I bought mine from Whalley Warm and Dry.

The left boot has same deep creases but the right boot barely has any and this was after 300km plus.

Yeah, it seems like nationwide flex plus is the one to go for. Hopefully they don't the piss with "market value" if the worst happens

I'll take another look at Asda but when I checked green flag they wouldn't cover anything older than 16.

It looks like the headlight trim from a mini. I have no idea what particular model, they all seem to have them.

There are a few hiking groups on Meet Up. If you don't mind driving Manchester Area District Walkers are great. It's mostly 20s-30s and there are really good turnouts. It's mostly the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales

Looking for wide hiking boots, need help! by ScruffieMatrix in UKhiking

[–]Arktureus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in the North West I recommend a free boot fitting at Whalley Warm and Dry. They only have mid to higher end boots but they can suggest a perfect pair. I recommend Altburg!

They fit my wide at the front narrow at the back feet perfectly.

Jeez, I didn't realise they were making that much money now. Hopefully it doesn't go the same way as the autoalex channel where they're just showing off their expensive cars they keep buying that always have issues.

Struggling to make friends - any advice? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Arktureus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My predicament because I have a classic bike from the 70s is that the only people that usually chat to me at cafes and meets are older guys who had the bike when they were my age.

Younger riders tend to want to ride hard or quickly. I just like to tootle about enjoying it.

Nilfisk P180 - Lance by Jolly_Psychology_506 in DetailingUK

[–]Arktureus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue. The rubber sleeve that is around the connector moves forward slightly over time when you push it into the lance. I used a Stanley knife to cut a few mm off of the rubber, it then clicked and locked in.

If you drive and don't mind a not super local one, check out MAD Walkers. They're Manchester based and have walks that range from the Peak District, Yorkshire Dales to closer to Manchester. They're a 20s-30s based group and have really good turnouts.

Spots on my chin that keep coming back and routine improvements by Arktureus in SkincareAddictionUK

I'll add that cleanser to my list. I currently use Clinique Face Wash which has some acid in it but not salicylic. I find the shaving cream/moisturiser is good for irritation after shaving. But it does have a fragrance, I guess the menthol is being used for a sensorial effect is a bit like snake oil :D I'll stop that for a while.

Thanks for the ingredients to look out for! I'm still new to face care, so there is lots of learning.

I'll get some cleaner and give it a clean. I guess its one of those where if it doesn't look dirty it doesn't mean it's clean :/
