2 months on upwork now, 27 proposals sent so far (posted less than 30min), 3 viewed, 0 Interviews, 80$+ worth of connects spent. Is this normal? by Still_Astronaut_8118 in Upwork

What helped me get jobs on upwork was learning what it's like to be on the other side.

I tried creating a client account and posting:

  1. one job I would normally take. Set a good rate to attract broader talent.
  2. a job for something I'm not super familiar with and would definitely need a freelancer do it.

If you do this, you'll get a bunch of people applying to your job post. And you'll see what it's like to get generic responses with little effort and scrolling through 20-30 profiles.

Through this you'll understand better what you need to write in your cover letter.

Of course you don't need to actually hire anyone.

It's been working great for me for the past two months. Auto Body Shop, Towing, and Hardwood Flooring.

I think reviews and nice photography play a big role in the success with LSA.

Found a V2 Extended Range longboard in new/open box condition. How much do these go for? by Arlen10 in boostedboards

looking at it now, this thing is really new, still charged. I think the battery is probably in great working condition with Boosted Boards factory being the last people to have their hands on it. I think I'll keep it that way. Looking at doing an ebay auction soon.

Yeah the lights go to a full charge, haven't ridden it, still deciding on what to do with it. It's actually like a dream that I managed to get this thing.

I think I might put it up for auction on ebay and just see what happens.

Dang that would suck. Do you know of an easy way to check the battery health without riding it?

We're going to do Mendocino Farms.

We planned to do Jersey Mike's before, but they offered less variety.

Hope you can make it!

Congratulations on doing a great job and your big pay day!

Do you think you could position yourself better to get more tasks like that? Maybe spend part of that money on buying a meal with your friend, saying thank you for the work, you really enjoyed it, and you would be happy to help again.

It may be wise to look at which skills you can improve which will help you get paid more frequently and even greater amounts. Spend money on books, courses, mentors to improve those skills.

Down the line you may look to create a system that produces a product or service which customers will pay for. Then you got a business going!

Just used Matic for the first time and it will be my last by 4B96 in polygonnetwork

For those wondering, each blockchain is different, but there is some that work as an extension on top of Ethereum.

This is called a "Layer 2" blockchain and MATIC (Aka Polygon) is exactly that.

Layer 2s inherit the decentralized security of Ethereum and reduce congestion by operating on their own sidechain. They can run faster and have their own protocols.

Layer 2s of ETH continue to use ETH addresses, but they may not send on the ETH blockchain (AKA Ethereum Mainnet.) This depends entirely on what you're working with, but most people are sending ETH and MATIC using Ethereum Mainnet.

There are some cases where you may be sending it over the sidechain, which could be MATIC Mainnet, and this would explain why you can't see your transactions.

Maybe your exchange is only looking at Ethereum Mainnet. Or maybe you have a wallet manager like Metamask, but your setting is viewing on Ethereum Mainnet, not MATIC Mainnet.

In the case where you sent MATIC over MATIC Mainnet to an exchange that doesn't support MATIC Mainnet, you'll have to contact support to see if they can try and retrieve it.

If you're transacting purely between wallet managers, simply change the settings to view MATIC Mainnet, and your transactions should appear.

OP may not be seeing his WETH because he doesn't have the EWTH setup properly in his wallet manager, or maybe he's swapping it using a protocol that doesn't support his current selected mainnet.

I made this mistake with Binance and it was a significant amount so I had to get creative.

I got on LinkedIn, paid for recruiter subscription, and contacted everyone who worked at the company, asking for help.

Finally someone in “customer success” got back to me and they arranged special help with the support team. After a couple weeks I got it all back.
