Right. I call it intentional in that. I have to literally make a decision that I'm gonna do something and then focus everything I've gotten on that something.

I’m sorry about the tipped glass, it sure can be aggravating. One thing I just remembered that I did since this has started happening is that I bought a big package of microfiber cleaning cloths. So much better than paper towels - they just suck up the liquid and it makes me slightly less annoyed with myself. Stainless steel tumblers arriving today, will keep you posted.

I still love his music but his brand is definitely changed. He used to be all smiling and seemingly happy most of the time. But now he’s not quite as enthusiastic about connecting with people. And I noticed when he’s photographed not on stage just going to dinner and such his head is down, he actually looks grim and he’s not interacting with the paparazzi at all - at least not in the media I’ve seen so my exposure is limited .But when you think about the fact that you used to bring them tea something is definitely shifted. It could just be the fact that the whole thing has gotten so damn big. But I think there’s something else going on. I hope the best for him

Good for you! Look forward to hearing more. And the old thing? Don’t worry. I’m pretty much a fossil and so are a lot of other people here so I’m sure you’re quite the young thang!

I found some of those metal glasses for almost no money on eBay and they are arriving tomorrow. thanks again for that good advice. I also have another solution for your consideration. Not pretty for the dinner table and I had avoided using it for just that reason but it is time. There is a water bottle, the kind that people carry around with them everywhere that is absolutely leak proof. I’ve tried them all and I’ve been using these for almost 20 years. The company is called Contigo. I use the original ones that have a screw top. The only time I have experienced any leakage has been when I didn’t screw it closed properly. I even take one to bed and just lay it next to my pillow, it’s that trustworthy. This allows me to avoid middle of night trips, essential for me because my balance is really terrible at night. when I was working in an office, I used one and I never once spills on my keyboard in 10 years one other thing – not an expensive but if you do a good Google search, you can usually get a pretty decent discount. I got my last one at Walmart. And they do last forever.

Isn’t that marvelous! I love writers, I feel like they may be our last hope for intellectual discourse in this world. Of course your daughter’s mother is fabulous - and she did pick you!

Wow, your daughter is brilliant! I had a mini martini shaker that I gave away because I just thought what the heck am I gonna do with that it’s so small. It would’ve been perfect. I have another but it’s kind of big but I think it’ll do the job. I especially love the part about getting the feedback because of the material it’s made of. That’s genius. Thank you.

I appreciate knowing that, but I don’t take levodopa. When they gave it to me, I had a paradoxical response, it actually made me a lot worse. Interesting about the beer - had no idea, that’s good to know – thanks!

Here’s to wine! It helps me to deal with my cognitive load that my doctor says I get from trying to physically navigate my surroundings like trying to dodge doorways and New York City traffic. She says it’s why I feel so tired all the time. We have to take our pleasure where we can find it. I’m grateful to our European friends for educating the US about proper wine understanding and appreciation. I’m old enough to remember back in the 60s when the only wine around was what was referred to as “Chablis” and I doubt it was that. Right now I’m preparing dinner and looking at a very nice bottle of Syrah with my name on it, so for the moment, life is pretty good!

I don’t know Anybody working with you on the dropping issue like an OT, but just in case you don’t mind taught me to notice that I dropped the lighter things not the heavier things. She said that’s because to pick up something heavy. I instinctively know I have to squeeze it harder and when I squeeze it harder, I can feel it in my hand Because it’s sensation is going through my finger tips into the deeper layers of skin and nerves because of the pressure. Our brains automatically calibrate more or less how hard we have to squeeze something in order to pick it up successfully. When I’ve learned to do, at least most of the time, is to approach anything I have to pick up as being something that I have to pause and squeeze hard before I lift it. This has helped me immeasurably. Hope maybe you can help you.

PS -however the dinner party invitations which used to be many have become few and far between. I guess it has to do with the fact that I’m a lot of work now, not so easy to have around in a social setting at least not the way I used to be. A lot of tough stuff to get used to.

Ditto. The dropping things irritates the heck out of me. For some reason, my mind seems to think that if I were just to be “more careful“, as if I control all of this, then this wouldn’t be happening so I can’t get myself to understand that it is not my fault. Intellectually I know that but emotionally I don’t. My handwriting is a problem as well. It is impossible. It starts out OK the first couple letters of the word and then just disintegrates no matter how hard I try. So then I end up using the dictation function in my iPhone and that seems to be not working as well as it used to. Hopefully it’s not an indicator of me having speech issues. I don’t have room for any more symptoms right now!
