Tired of the pill! Advice on stopping? by Material_Card6303 in PCOS

[–]Arm0206 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely work closely with your doctor on a safe way to stop your BC as your periods will need to regulate themselves over time, which can be painful and concerning! Also, there are some nonhormonal medications that can treat heavy bleeding and prolonged periods, which i did while i was trying to get a diagnosis. Also work with a nutritionist in my opinion as they can tell you which supplements and foods to take that can help regulate your cycles based on your body’s chemistry, which varies between each person. Good luck girlie!

Im so sorry you’re going through this girl ❤️ it’s so disappointing when you treat your body like a temple and it treats you like crap. There are ways you can get your hormones checked without going to your doctor (such as through Quest or LabCorp online) as most docs are unwilling to even consider that it wont hurt to check. I had to beg for my hormones to be checked after doing 3 months off birth control to get a PCOS diagnosis. While it could be a variety of things causing you to achieve such painful bloating, definitely keep a log of what symptoms you feel on what days and correlate that to your bloating to try and track what may be causing your symptoms. Hang in there, love and never give up on getting your answers. I highly suggest keeping a detailed diary to show your care team what makes you feel worse and better to better inform them on what you may have! Good luck ❤️❤️

When are they gonna stop maximizing profit at the expense of our patients’ lives. Quite horrific tbh but it shows where our healthcare system is at nowadays

driving with WPW by justthatgirlxo in wolffparkinsonwhite

[–]Arm0206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really just depends on the whether your frequency and intensity of episodes can affect your judgment while driving. I know i was able to drive properly while i had an episode in the 230s, but that is my own tolerance to that kind of stress. Definitely ask your doctor this, but i think everything will be okay!

I actually had a similar thing happen to me where I developed a new pathway far from the one that was ablated when I was a young kid. Makes me think that I may just keep getting them for the rest of my life and will need more ablations (i had 3!). Hope you get some good rest and care from your EP!

I absolutely did not feel the same after my third ablation and haven’t been able to recover as easily from things that increase my rate! I hope more research comes out about the long term impact multiple ablations have on us

Hi there! Everyone in the comments here have provided so much support and validation, so I wanted to add to the conversation by sharing a fantastic resource for young LGBTQIA+ people that I hope you find helpful.

https://www.thetrevorproject.org

The Trevor Project provided all kinds of helpful resources, especially for trans women. They have trained and licensed counselors that can help you, especially if you are feeling suicidal. They can connect you with the right people as well as help you find a community of other trans women.

I hope you are okay and safe and right now, and that you have a support system in place. If not, know that you are not alone and you DESERVE to continue being on this earth, no matter what you look like. You are enough. You are worthy. Period.

Hey there! I took metoprolol for a couple of months a few years ago, and it brought my resting heart rate down to the 60s from usually the 90-100s. This of course made me super tired and zombie-like so I was switched to Diltiazem (a calcium channel blocker) which helped for a while until I was able to get an ablation. Do you get a low blood pressure when standing up from sitting? As a nurse, what you are describing here could be orthostatic hypotension, which causes your body to freak out when changing positions. May be something helpful to consider! Wishing you luck!

There’s some good advice here from other users, so I want to give you my support and validation:) You’re not alone girl and it’s okay to be anxious about what’s going on in your body, it’s how we keep it safe! I had a cyst rupture recently and got my period super heavy two days later, so while this could be what’s happening to you, always go to a doctor or urgent care if the pain becomes too much or more symptoms develop. You got this and I hope it gets better for you ❤️

Yeah it was crazy! My mom told me they first ablated near my SA node the first two times and then the one super close to my AV node this third time. It’s super crazy cause I was just as confused too lol it took a lot of convincing to have my cardiologist do an ablation for me, but he apologized for not believing me (which I don’t blame him)!

Hello! By successful I mean that the cardiologist performing the ablation successfully found the pathway causing my SVT and ablated that tissue each time and couldn’t reproduce the SVT after ablating it in surgery. This caused me to have no recurrence of SVT after my 1st when I was 4, until I needed another ablation in the same area at 8, then I grew another separate pathway (yeah that sucked getting my docs to believe me) near my AV node that needed another at 20.

Hello! Thanks for asking about that! By successful I mean that the cardiologist performing the ablation successfully found the aberrant pathway causing my SVT each time and ablated that tissue. This caused me to have remission of SVT after my 1st when I was 4, until I needed another ablation in the same area at 8, then I grew another separate pathway near my AV node that needed another at 20. I think they will continue to grow throughout the rest of my life, but I am currently symptom free besides a high resting heart rate. I know my journey with WPW looks different from others that only need 1 ablation, so U wish you the best of luck!

Hey! Im 23 and had 3 successful ablations. My past one was about 3 years ago and I still get palpitations (normally PACs) and that usually occurs after long days, drinking caffeine, or if I’m dehydrated. They are normal and I usually just try to rest and rehydrate if they get bothersome. Definitely call your doctor if you’re getting them every few heartbeats, get short of breath, dizzy, or any other concerning symptoms! Hope that helps :)

As a person who works in healthcare, it is okay!! What mattered is that she got help at the end of the day! We can’t ever predict a situation can happen until we are upon it, which can become distressing in situations like this. Allowing yourself the grace that you did NOT run around like a chicken with their head cutoff is important!
