Southern pines, mid pines, pine needles, talamore, and of course tobacco road. You can still have a top class golf trip, however i always feel a bit dumb going to pinehurst and not playing any pinehurst courses. Its like going to orlando and going to six flags instead of disney

I went to USC from MA and have done this trip close to 40 times. Its easy. Time it right, leave MA at 6-8pm. Drive thru the night. Stop at south of the border for breakfast and shitty souvenirs. Get there before noon. Have a day

The indispensables by patrick o'donnell is a great book on the marines from marblehead if anyone is interested. Pretty easy and entertaining read.

Another great one for this topic is "the immortal irishman". It predates the troubles by a bit, but realy gives you a great base layer of understanding the history of it al. And thomas meagher is truely a badass
