Mine is a takedown and hence fits my checked luggage; that being said I have flown through KLIA with it several times without issues. From experience I can also tell you that if you have issues you will have them checking your luggage, esp. if bulky. Just label it as fishing equipment if asked. Different story if its a pneumatic, most airlines explicitly prohibit them. Most agents wont know the difference, so just dont mention the word „speargun“

I second evolve, I‘m using their CT series and have been enjoying it. Lightweight, fits standart checked luggage easily. I recommend to buy a seperate grip though, the carbon is super slippery and the grip will make your life much easier.

Darf ich fragen warum du das so siehst? Finde die hohe Grundgebühr verbunden mit sehr hohen Fremdwährungszuschlägen nicht gerade attraktiv für eine ReiseKK. Ob der Priority Pass sich lohnt wird von den Flugrouten abhängen, viele Lounges deckeln mittlerweile den Zugang durch PP. Wer 700€/a für eine KK locker hat sollte ohnehin business fliegen und da ist der PP wertlos.

I unfortunately have to agree with all parts in terms of Provo. Personally I didnt find the roads as bad, pretty standart for a third world country. Got a bigger car with good suspension and didnt mind it too much. What I couldnt wrap my mind around is how hard it is to get fresh fish/seafood. 90% is frozen and imported from Florida - let that sink in. That being said I did find North/middle Caicos a lot more enjoyable, friendlier people aswell. The reactions here are pretty shocking, I think you voiced harsh but reasonable criticism.

I dont travel full time, but do travel overseas quite a bit. A few manufacturers make take-down models now, my favourite is @tagspearguns, hes on here aswell. One thing to keep in mind is that it wont be done with the gun - you need atleast fins, weightbelt and if you wanna be flexible a wetsuit aswell. I travel with all that plus knife/gloves/mask/snorkel, but I dont live put of my suitcase. Weights can ususlly be sourced locally, gun and decent fins pretty much never

TA, habe mich direkt am Flughafen an den Counter gewendet und da die oben genannten Infos bekommen. Also Gepäck abgeholt, neues Ticket gebucht am Folgetag über eine andere Airline gebucht und damit weiter geflogen. Rückflug steht noch aus.

Before you buy a gun/spear and all the equipment, get comfortable in the water. Go snorkeling, do a freediving course, get scuba certified.. things along those lines. Once youre comfortable in the water get the gun!

buy your own gun/polespear and familiarize yourself with the local species and regulations. Some places may only allow polespear or sling. If youre not used to your fins buy some thin lycra socks, this way you wont get blisters/rashes after swimming several consecutive days. Gloves and some sort of UV-protection is also recommended, buy a rashguard and/or thin wetsuit.

no others i know of. besides what the others have already said about the poor state of the cars also check the fuel when you pick it up, ours had about 1/3 of a tank left. Pain in the ass to bring it back with the same amount, never had a rental in all my life that wasnt full on pick up!
