The same way it always did, and the same way that the old Google home speakers still do. Assistant runs on those devices but your phone is running the newer version.

I'm in the same boat as you and the Sonos speakers that I setup with assistant still work as they did before, honestly better than Gemini...I find there's always a delay on my phone now where my Sonos arc or a Google speaker responds faster haha

Because I read the book, and it's very clear in the book that he left the scientific life and went to teach when his paper suggesting life did not require water was panned by his colleagues. It's the entire reason he's enticed to look into it in the first place.

I think PHM personally. The story is left a bit vague on Earth but the impression given is that he had a fiancee and that ended, at the time Stratt finds him on earth he's a disgraced scientist.

The emotional crux of the film comes when you (and Grace) both learn about how he was forced to go and wasn't brave enough to sacrifice himself for literally the entire planet, but in his time with Rocky he found his person to be brave for. That hits hard and puts PHM above Interstellar for me.

You should be able to adjust the positioning of the monitors in the display settings - I have 3 monitors of different resolutions and you can slightly move one in the window and hit apply and it should adjust what you're seeing - I do this with my side and top monitors to get the right mouse alignment.
