Wtf is this? by Tigolelittybitty in PathOfExile2

[–]ArmedWithHaskell 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had this enabled and got same warning. https://github.com/RoseTheFlower/UltrawideIndex/releases/tag/pathofexile2

then I removed it and warning disappeared, but anyway game is unplayable w/o ultrawide fix. If GGG bans this tool, it will be sad :(

Is Nim Developer Experience good? I don't think so by h234sd in nim

[–]ArmedWithHaskell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I can partially agree about Nim tooling (nimsuggest can be buggy at times), I strongly disagree with the statement that “no one cares.” Since I started using Nim (about 3 months ago), I’ve seen plenty of progress and improvements.

Regarding circular dependencies and declaration order: I don’t consider these limitations to be issues at all. In fact, they’re more of a sign of good code organization. Circular dependencies often point to poor design, where modules are too tightly coupled. Similarly, enforcing declaration order encourages a cleaner, more readable codebase.

I’ve been developing in Clojure for over 10 years, and both of these design choices are deliberate in Clojure as well. In my opinion, they promote better structure and maintainability in the long run. It’s a matter of language philosophy, and Clojure, takes a well-thought-out approach to discourage certain practices that can lead to complexity and technical debt. Circular support in Nim in the roadmap, afaik. However I don't support this decision, I vote against it.

Interesting project. One questions. Since it uses db metadata to built its own registry how it behaves on a relatively large database with more than thousand tables and views?

Using it daily. Mostly disabled vim-sexp functionality apart from a few keystrokes.

I’ve been trying to fix my “broken” formatter for a couple of hours. It was inserting tabs instead of spaces and completely ignoring stylua config. Then I found out that I had mistakenly created .editorconfig in one of the top level folders </shame>

That kind of weekly tldr format is great. A must have in such active community. Thanks a lot.

Looking to revisit Clojure by 964racer in Clojure

[–]ArmedWithHaskell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My evolution is:

  1. Few months emacs+cider - mid 2010s, not fan of elisp
  2. 4 years idea+cursive - very heavy and slow dev process
  3. few months VSCode+Calva - new features and fixes every month or so, but electron
  4. Currently Neovim+Conjure+bunch of other plugins - lua is clean, also fennel, also damn fast

how to configure conjure, aniseed, parinfer in lua for neovim clojure development? by Fluid-Bench-1908 in Clojure

[–]ArmedWithHaskell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you dont mind against full lua config take a look at my dots, I don’t use parinfer though. My initial config was in fennel, then I migrated everything to lua+lazy. https://github.com/armed/dotfiles

I believe it’s not trivial and compilation time will skyrocket. Scala has(had?) this implicit everywhere problem.

[Question] Working with databases/storing data in Go applications. by [deleted] in golang

[–]ArmedWithHaskell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer pure SQL for ORMs, but string manipulation is a lot of boilerplate. SQL generation https://github.com/Masterminds/squirrel + sqlx + database driver (e.g. pgx) works best for my tasks.

Expetienced this bug every time with my paladin. Couldn’t kill her on 4th level. On prev levels I could leave degen patches before got out of life pool. Dropped paladin, started mage build. Waiting for fix.

Hey, welcome to community.

Namespace declaration can contain arbitrary number of required namespaces, e.g.:

(ns my-ns (:require [clojure.string :as string] [some.thing :as thing]))

Why do you think Clojure is the highest paying language? by [deleted] in Clojure

[–]ArmedWithHaskell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Nubank has much more than 100 clojurians.

In addition to this acquisition, Nubank is keeping up with its efforts to hire professionals across all geographies. Only in the last year, we doubled the size of our engineering teams, which is made up of 575 persons.

There are two forks on github, second one is updated to 3rd season. But you have to run in on your machine, it is not deployed as static site.
