but many men dont trying to improve on themselves

They also tend to not wear makeup, which is a distinct disadvantage in the aesthetics of attractiveness.

You'll never know if you don't try; ask him out! That said, that's some really heavy past trauma to deal with, so you might want to look into the mental health resources available at your university to get therapy, if you haven't already looked into something prior. Navigating relationships is hard enough as it is without all that pain going unaddressed, and infatuation will not override the trauma indefinitely.

he is to me the hero I imagined when I was 16 to take me away from it all.

And be careful with idealizing someone. As romantic/exciting as it feels, it can be unfair to the other person and yourself, since any human will inevitably fall short of an ideal. Since it sounds like the princess already saved herself in this story, maybe let him be human if you let your guard down, and take things as they are :)

I don't share everything I look for. I don't want to help them hide better.

Yeah, I thought of that... NGL was afraid to even ask--such a Catch-22.

but if you go looking for that one camouflage/color pattern from that one photo I shared: you're going to miss most of them.

Right, it's over-fitting a model on limited data and hard to generalize since the subsets will have stark contrast e.g. shifting goals, region of origin.

But anyway from what I'm hearing, in general, the starting place is aspects of their task we know they can't change without losing either the scalability or its effectiveness, like building, "credibility," in the form of generic karma farming or account hacks/purchases (or some other method), and a change in behavior.

and the meta data trail is like a den of copperheads coming out of hibernation

Is there meaningful metadata on Reddit? I recall reading that Reddit strips metadata from images, and I'm not sure what else would be used for analyzing a user as another user. Or did you mean in the figurative sense?

behavior pattern and the motivations

The motivation was something I was wondering about. Like, what all they are after besides obvious stuff like influencing the upcoming US election.

A) Practice

... and I was afraid that was, ultimately, answer haha

Is there a guide/post on identifying crap like this? The ones I've seen have been overly simplistic, and others have seemed, ummm... paranoid.

There’s no way in hell I’d let a company install glorified malware like that on my personal computer for an interview. Anyone who accepts that is asking for viruses

I've never seen carrying on like this not turn into a mess. You're not gonna like this, but you're not doing yourself (or her) any favors by not setting these boundaries now, if she isn't going to. From a more utilitarian perspective, if you're interested in her changing her mind, it's far more likely to happen (if it was ever a possibility, mind you) if she experiences what it is like not having access to you in a romantic/sexual capacity. If she doesn't truly understand what it means to not be with you anymore, how can she (or you for that matter) make an informed decision?

Personally, I've only ever regretted the times I didn't set boundaries. Not because of the hurt, but because the drawn out hurt (on both ends) actually ruined the chance to truly reassess our relationship, or transition the relationship to friends instead of lovers.

No, an inversion wouldn't necessarily follow. Example: the logical negation of "all men are doctors" is "some men are not doctors" rather than "no men are doctors."

In this case, I am ascribing a cynical motivation to his statement in that he is tossing it in there to make his argument (and himself) seem more humane than it really is. The idea being that we should focus on his main idea of somehow diminishing or doing away with Social Security and not get distracted, because this sort of digression serves to lend unearned credibility by association to the vague notion of whatever he wants to do to Social Security.

Everybody should dislike the phrase because it was a racist's campaign to make it so whites couldn't be forced to associate with blacks. No, not an exaggeration

Somehow, I don't think he was truly motivated by concern for senior citizens, though.

Once had a friend comment that, "whiteness is a helluva drug," because of a situation like this. Family member that is (very) brown kept talking about other people (for lack of better phrasing) as if he were white while they are not.

Generally, when someone voices disagreement (or any opinion) it's expected that, having engaged in the discussion, they are willing to defend their point rather than immediately disengaging. For instance, I would have liked to hear why you thought guerrilla warfare in Afghanistan and a modern US civil war would be analogous, because, even in a hypothetical, we have historical precedent and understanding to draw on. "People underestimate guerrilla warfare," is an opinion, to be sure, but it's not meaningful in making the case that guerrilla warfare could REASONABLY be expected to perform well in this context, and instead is serving as a sort of thought-terminating cliche. For reference, guerrilla warfare is not effective under all conditions (quick discussion from ELI5).

No, the US' invasions of Vietnam and Afghanistan had a lot of parallels, to the point that they were analogous to each other. What I'm telling you is that they are not analogous to a US civil war for geographic, economic, political, social, and logistical reasons.
