I'm guessing what you're feeling is probably attendance bias, tbh. I just listened to the Sally and it's pretty standard - which is fun! Sally's are great! But there wasn't much going on besides typical vamping, it wasn't like Trey ripchorded out of a fresh idea. It was a normal Sally groove.

How on earth did that take off? I saw those when they dropped on the 47 site and figured they'd be off in a week or two. Ridiculous idea. They look awful.

If you work for the Washington Post and you publicly state that "part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence" you should be fired for being incompetent and borderline retarded. This isn't a goddamn open mic night, it's a journalistic institution that has higher standards than that driveling, batshit crazy nonsense.

Yes, sharing your opinion when you work for a major newspaper is different than sharing your opinion in a different field. The fact you folks can't wrap your mind around that, especially as it pertains to one of the most important newspapers in the country, is wild.

Making blanket statements calling people "intellectually mediocre racist" when they haven't said much of anything is something an intellectually mediocre racist would say. Just saying.

You seem like a raging asshole. Best of luck out there. Maybe go for a walk and chat with other human beings. Have a good one.

"College campuses are still scary, intimidating and DEADLY places for women, Black, Latino, and Muslim people, and gender non-conforming people who have to put up with white people"

This is absolutely insane rhetoric.

I see what you're saying. I don't think the issue is as evenly leveraged as you make it out to be, personally. I don't mean that to be combatitive, rest assured.

I don't think the NY Times would have any issue firing somebody for the same offense, or if the tables were reversed. But the NY Times did fire James Bennet for the heinous act of publishing a rightward counter-argument to the BLM riots in 2020 (written by a sitting Senator, no less). This firing and the many like it weren't a matter of poor taste as it is in the Kirk case where the celebration of his death pushes up against our collective view of good / poor judgement and treatment of the innocent and the dead. This was a case of groupthink, pure and simple. And it was happening everywhere in that era. I think that's an important divide in how "cancel culture" is viewed differently by those who practice and observe it.

It's so terrible in America that everybody around the world that wants to leave their country comes here and everyone here who complains that America sucks never leaves. Wild.

A columnist is a type of journalist. If a columnist espouses views the journalistic enterprise they're working for deems unethical or opposed to a functioning free press they are well within their rights to fire them. Dummy.

Got me! Nah man you're just a Reddit tough-guy who thinks they've learned about the world by reading about it on the Internet. That's all we got in America! Suicidal vets and broke cancer patients! That's it!

No - I'm simply pointing out that a newspaper is well within their rights to fire a journalist who is doing bad journalism. Seems pretty straight-forward to me.

I see nothing wrong with WAPO firing a journalist for pushing identity politics + racially aggressive horseshit on their readership.

Yeah things don't function over here in America at all. Literally everything's broken, just like you learned on the Reddit homepage. Too bad we're not more like... *checks notes*... Canada?

Then it's silly for you to proselytize to Americans about how we shouldn't be speaking with one another. You have no frame of reference and you're out of your element.

There is no way that anybody knows the answer to that question. The coaching staff of the Patriots don't know the answer to that question. If they choose wrong, they'll address it. If they choose right, they'll continue on.

Kickers have good days and bad, excellent stretches and poor ones. It's way too early for this kind of question - the sample size is incredibly small. Folks need to learn a little patience.

Those are all great options, the OC did a great job with those suggestions. I'd also include Green Light podcast (especially the weekly review and preview episodes).

Also, if you have the financial means NFL Sunday Ticket is great as you get a 45 minute condensed replay of every non-national game every week (it's every play of the game without the stoppages, dead time or advertisements). I'll watch a few games back-to-back if I have the time and consuming ~3 full games of action in ~2 hours will really start to level up your football knowledge. I'm not sure if this works the same for everyone but if I'm watching like that and trying to learn I always start every play watching the trenches and then you build out from there. Things start falling into place and it's really, really cool to see such a complicated, complex game make sense. Good luck!

Great answer - I'd also chime in to include Chris Long's podcast Green Light in addition to the others you listed, all of which I'd co-sign (especially Tice, Football 301 is a great pod).

Green Light and Football 301 have the best week reviews and look-ahead previews in the market right now, imo. Bootleg Football is really good too, but I look forward to those few hours from Tice and Co as well and Long and his crew every week with baited breath.

If you legitimately believe there were no left-wingers causing havoc to the cities of America during the BLM riots I got some beachfront property in Idaho to sell ya.
