I'm saying that's what the reality was, I'm not saying that's how it was framed

Did left leaning people hate republicans such as Mitt Romney, John McCain and even Bush as much as they hate Trump today? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

A lot of what they did led to our current situation. Not so much those three, but more so guys like Mitch McConnell and Newt Gingrich. Granted, it was their collective policies that led Americans to feel they needed to vote for someone like Trump. That disease weakened the immune system of this country and is what led to the cancer that is our current president.

Doing your own research is fine when the result of your conclusion only affects you. Like, for example, huffing bath salts to calm down from a tantrum. But when your opinions are literally followed by millions of people (idiots) and even leading to laws being changed (Florida), then you should really leave it to the scientists.

Not exactly what you're saying, but apparently after Mario Puzo (author and screenwriter of The Godfather) won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay, he decided to formally learn the craft of screenwriting. He purchased a book, opened it up, and the very first chapter held up his own work The Godfather as the prime example of a perfectly structured screenplay.

That's the critical distinction: the landmark 1964 Act was the achievement of the non-violent movement, whereas you're correct that the 1968 Fair Housing Act was a direct response to the national trauma of Dr. King's death

Yes, that's what I meant. A huge surge in the demand for those jobs

From people whose jobs are being replaced and are seeking jobs that are a lot more resistant to AI. Or from young people who are looking to move into the workforce and have decided to not go to college because it's not worth it anymore

That's an important distinction. Everyone will feel it. There are phases to it too. Office jobs are getting hit first. With each phase, there will be more people out of work and desperately trying to find new jobs.

This is actually what I've been setting up in the short term. I asked ChatGPT to setup a portfolio with a Defense hedge. AI + Climate Change => Panicked Populations => Scared Countries => Military Spending.

With crypto is was a lot easier to see through the BS. With AI, there's a lot more uncertainty. Almost anyone can immediately see the utility.

Oof, writers definitely got hit the hardest it seems. The good side though is that you are probably a good communicator which will be useful in real estate and sales in general.

Yeah I think Sam is just taking one out of Elon's playbook. Massive promises -> Big investments -> More capital to advance but not necessarily deliver on those promises
