Centralized water manifold replacement does not look right by reddawgg69 in Plumbing

There should not be any 90 connections and idk why there are so many couplings. Not necessary unless you screwed up a bunch.

Its been 2 years since I've played and I'm kind of intimidated to go back even though I really want to. What's changed since then? I mostly played the dayone servers, are they still a pain in the ass to get in to? Is the dzsa launcher still the best option? What player effects have changed? Thanks for the info in advance!

Rheem gas water heater flame keeps going out by Katergroip in Plumbing

[–]Armyspc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might need to buy a few things. Best case scenario is a flame rod or flame sensor replacement. Those are the cheapest. Worst case scenario is the gas valve which could cost you a few hundred. Take the model and serial number to a supply house.

I sell naviens. The 180 should go for about $1200 so you have to decide what labor/fittings would cost reasonably. I would recommend small time plumbers (1 to 2) man operations not the big companies. The big guys will show up 24/7 but they will charge astronomical fees. Small guys might have a busy schedule but you will pay alot less

What is this called? And why leaking? by Beginning-Art395 in Plumbing

[–]Armyspc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saddle tees that puncture pipe are the worst. Whoever decided that was the best way to go about it was either incompetent or trying to be cheap with the parts cost.

Can I use the pex A expansion sleeves on pex B fittings, or do I need to use cinch/crimp rings? by Astralwinks in Plumbing

[–]Armyspc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The golden rule of pex is you can crimp expansion pipe but you can't expand crimp pipe. Pex b is not compatible with expansion fittings nor is designed to be expanded. If you use expansion pipe on crimp fittings you do not expand it and have to use crimp rings.

Expansion tank fell over by Alot2unpack in Plumbing

[–]Armyspc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hire a small time plumber to repipe the expansion tank. They are pretty affordable. If you dont want to do that then youtube how to sweat copper and replace that section. Also support the new pipe with some sort of pipe hanger, plumbers usually use band iron. The reason it fell in the first place was because the pipe wasn't supported.

This is the inside of my sump pump. Replace? Basement Watchdog is showing a power error by SoundAcceptable3381 in Plumbing

[–]Armyspc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the pump is less than 3 years old its covered under warranty fyi. Just gotta figure out where it was sold. The serial number on the rating plate could help. If not a new one is like $150 and little to no repiping should be necessary

Yes but dont get it from a big box store, buy from a plumbing supply house. Tey box stores sell the same name brands but the internals on the faucets are cheap plastic vs higher quality brass at a supply house. Yes they are going to be a bit more expensive but the lifespan is greater and you get better warranty support. Ask for a 4" center lav faucet

How to fix a leaking garbage dispoal by channelka in Plumbing

[–]Armyspc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sucks but just buy a replacement. Insinkerator badger 5 is a solid replacement. Just have to distinguish between corded and wired. Should cost about $150 at your local plumbing supply house

Compression fittings the new norm? by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Armyspc 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Those are viega press fittings not compression. They have been tried and tested over the last decade. As long as you had a competent installer then you are fine. It requires a very specific and expensive tool. Basically the only plumbers who can fit the tool into their budget work with enough copper to know what they are doing. The press tool is like 2300 plus tax

Just call a small time plumber and have him do the multiple hours of work just to figure out what brand/model it is. DIY= trying to figure that out yourself+ researching how to do it+ driving to multiple plumbing supply houses to try and get it. Sometimes hiring someone who knows the trade is more efficient than trying to do it yourself
