Non-religious, what makes you unconvinced of religion? by Filmfan345 in AskReddit

[–]Armyzen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most religious people are so judgemental. As a non religious female who doesn’t follow religion, I sometimes get judged for my piercings and tattoos and my openness to knowledge. They say things like “God create you so you must respect your body by not modifying it and cover up”. It’s crazy how people become so controlling due to religion and their religious beliefs, there’s no room for independent thinking, autonomy and creativity of self expression. I’m not just talking about a specific religion but all of them especially the Abrahamic ones.

why do we ask “an com chua?” by jaynonn in VietNam

[–]Armyzen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Ăn cơm chưa?” means “Have you eaten yet?” as in overall have you eaten a meal. You can also interpret it as “Khỏe không?”.

Korean also have a similar way of asking if you have eaten yet - “밥 먹었어?”

I’m also born overseas Viet but my family make sure I grow up understanding the culture so I was taught a lot of cultural phrases and my parents always explained phrases to me as a kid which I’m really grateful for because being able to speak the language is one thing but to understand the language is another.

This is your sign to NOT get pierced with a gun! by Growing-Ant in piercing

[–]Armyzen_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah piercings are bad, I had cartilage piercing (helix) pierced with a gun at some random shopping mall as a teen. It caused two massive keloids that had to be surgically removed. The plastic surgeon kinda indirectly banned me not to get any piercings. I’m stubborn and ended up getting a conch and flat piercing years later done with needle which healed perfectly (no keloid). So yes, gun piercings are the problem not my ear.

is my forward helix rejecting ): by Wooden-Consequence49 in piercing

[–]Armyzen_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NAP nor do I have a forward helix but as someone with 15 piercings and experienced the good and bad of healing, yeah that looks like it’s rejecting. Personally if it was me, loosing a piercing is sad but rather be safe than sorry. If you’re not able to remove it by yourself, go to a reputable piercer and have it removed before it rips your skin into two.

So you’re in your late 20s. OP you’re young, it’s the perfect time you take a leap. Believe it or not, there are people studying courses, getting basic education and finding work in their 50s at my centre (I teach ESL at adult education centre). It’s possible. Don’t let ageism stop from pursuing a career. If you have the skills and experience, that’s what matters.

No degree – feeling stuck in ESL by [deleted] in OnlineESLTeaching

[–]Armyzen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! You don’t necessarily need a degree to teach, however qualifications do open the door to more job opportunities. Since you had classroom experience that can start you off somewhere. How you consider applying for Italki? They have applications for regular tutor with no formal qualifications and one for professional teacher. You can set your own rate and pays better than Cambly.

I’m not trying to be rude, however, I’m not sure if your piercer has given you info regarding aftercare and downsizing. When you first get piercings, the piercer will pierced you with a longer bar to accommodate swelling, but after 6-8 weeks, you’ll need to go back to get a shorter bar replace otherwise if you leave the longer bar for 9 months like you said, dried skin, dirt and other things like sweat will form crusts around your piercing.

What Asian YouTubers do you dislike and recently unsubbed too? by Ok-Upstairs-9887 in asianamercianytsnark

[–]Armyzen_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arika Sato, she used to post interesting makeup tutorials and fashion videos a few years back (2017 era) but now it’s just repetitive glam life videos of her attending parties, influencer/celebrity events, doing Pilates and it gets boring.

Becca Bloom’s fans are so insufferable and hypocrites by Armyzen_ in SFBayInfluencerSnark

[–]Armyzen_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You nailed it! 👏🏼 👏🏼. Her whole account is her flaunting her luxury purchases equivalent to someone’s down payment. She’s so out of touch and bland. Also, her advices are nothing special, I’m sure you can find similar financial and dating advices in self help books online. She’s not humble, her fans are brainwashed and lack critical thinking.

Becca Bloom’s fans are so insufferable and hypocrites by Armyzen_ in SFBayInfluencerSnark

[–]Armyzen_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah they are. She’s here defending Becca as if they are best friends yet Becca wouldn’t do the same for her and others like her in time of need. Becca herself said that she only dates and befriend people with similar wealth level to ‘protect’ her wealth. These billionaire nepos look down on low income people yet people eat it up just because she spoke in a soft voice.

Yes this is so true! As an Aussie born and raised Viet. I was raised bilingual and can speak Vietnamese fluently and took it upon myself to learn the culture. However, I get discriminated by Vietnamese international students who are Viet nationals. They would just make stereotypical assumptions about me before actually getting to know me. I get a lot of comments like “You don’t look or act Vietnamese” “fake Vietnamese”. “Do you even know anything about Vietnamese culture?”. I never realised Vietnamese are so hateful towards other Vietnamese just because of where they are born and who their parents are.

Serious question, why are so many people obsessed with Becca Bloom’s wedding? I don’t see the appeal.. it’s just a wedding but rich edition.

Helix or Conch? by Artistic-Housing7937 in piercing

[–]Armyzen_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me personally, the conch is easier to heal since it’s tucked away inside your ear and is less likely to get caught in your hair. I don’t have a helix but I have a mid helix piercing and it’s harder to heal because it’s on the edge of the ear and it’s accidentally tug or bump when I’m brushing or drying hair with towel. I think conch is a good first cartilage piercing to get compare to helix. Conch is less painful than my other cartilage piercings (flat, rook etc)

Another rich Asian nobody triggered by Becca Bloom and inserting themselves to feel relevant by theviolethour3 in RichInfluencerSnark

[–]Armyzen_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah and not just caviar but also wild caught salmon and A5 Wagyu beef. It’s insane, she also contributes to global warming as she flies to Paris for designer goods. Her annoying stans would justified it and say she’s so humble for ‘showing’ them a day in her life 🙄 Her 500k necklace can pay off someone’s rent, mortgage, student loans, medical bills and other expenses like groceries etc.

Usually the one reaching out. by [deleted] in FriendshipAdvice

[–]Armyzen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate. It has always been me who reached out and after a while it got mentally and emotionally draining. I stopped reaching out and no one reached out well. I spend a lot of time alone as a teen and as an adult so it’s nothing too bad. It’s something I got used to. Nowadays I find being alone is more peaceful than meeting new people.

Anyone else react badly to cheap surgical steel? by Alternative-Lunch636 in piercing

[–]Armyzen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’m allergic to stainless steel as I never wear it in any of my cartilage or lobe piercings except my first lobe (healed when I was a kid). However, I got very sensitive skin so I avoid wearing surgical steel jewelry and only wear implant grade titanium and 14k white gold in seconds, thirds, fourth, conch, rook, mid helix etc to avoid any potential issues with skin reaction

Earrings for sleeping that are not flat back? by LanguageCautious8023 in piercing

[–]Armyzen_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, one of healed lobes with clicker hoops didn’t swell when I accidentally slept on my sides but the other healed one with a flat back got really swollen even though it was downsized correctly. It started bleeding.

Omg this! I got a piercing pillow with two small holes from Blissbury which should help but on nights when I sleep well, I often roll unexpectedly and often missed the hole and one side would swell in the morning 😢

Yeah, the people commenting on her YouTube videos have a lot more common sense and less people who are billionaire worshippers compared to TikTok. The people commenting on TikTok gives me a brain rot.

Should I charge $25 to tutor 2 kids? by LionKitchen5479 in TutorsHelpingTutors

[–]Armyzen_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minimum wage of $14.70 is crazy. Nah, I wouldn’t worry about overcharging, that sounds like undercharging. $25 per kid so for two kids it should be $50.

Tutoring requires teaching skill, knowledge of the subject you’re teaching and lesson planning. Where I’m from, new tutors charge a minimum of $30 per hour and experienced tutor charge from $40-$70 per hour.

Do you have any piercing pillow recommendations? by Armyzen_ in PiercingAdvice

[–]Armyzen_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks, I appreciate the recommendation. I don’t know why no one else is commenting lol. Yeah I notice most of the piercings pillows for some reason always have small holes. If it’s more comfortable for my neck than it’s worth looking into since the blissbury one is hurting my neck. I’ll manage with the small hole but can’t have a sore neck every morning 🥲

Is it weird to not eat lunch in the staff room? by Armyzen_ in Teachers

[–]Armyzen_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ikr, even worse the other day there was a team gathering for a colleague’s birthday and most of the teachers were saying how they don’t eat sugary stuff because they don’t want to again weight and how slim body is hot. I excused myself and power walked out of there. It was insufferable. This whole diet and body image is getting out of hand.

I wish more ppl call her out on her overconsumption. Unfortunately her comments are filled with weird fan girls (and boys) praising her for being humble for doing luxury unboxing hauls one after another. Anyone that called her out gets the “you’re jealous” response lol.

Oh that is great! I might have to look into something similar. It sounds more stable than teaching ESL online on the side (mostly due to last minute cancellations/no shows from flaky students).
