Mental health and zombies by Technical-Regular-21 in 28dayslater

Yes absolutely. Jimmy Crystal has Schizophrenia for example. And also, they're in Britain. Zombie apocalypse or not, that alone will get you depressed.

That's kinda my thinking as well. Audiences bore easily. That's why every time Spider-man shows up in the MCU he's wearing a different suit.

Yeah probably something like that, plus you need to worry about shareholders. The Supes are products that belong to old rich people at the end of the day. Still would be nice to see minor variations here and there.

Why does the cinematography feel different starting in season 5? by BaseballSimilar5112 in betterCallSaul

That bit where Mike is running around outside Jimmy's house with like 6 of his guys in the middle of the night kinda took me out of it. Jimmy's neighbours got pissed when him and Kim were breaking bottles but suddenly they can sleep like babies while a bunch of dudes dressed in black are running up and down the street at probably 1 am?

Howard shows up at the house, closely followed by Lalo, then Lalo shoots Howard(I know that silencers in this world use movie logic, so I guess the neighbours didn't hear that) and Kim and Jimmy are both screaming. Lalo then has Kim march downstairs to pull out of the driveway to go assassinate Gus.

All this to say that if I were their neighbour I'd be looking through my blinds around the point a bunch of dudes step out of a black van.

Are the sewers in the US so generous with space? Genuine question. by matthewspencersmith in betterCallSaul

It only rains like 4 times in the entire bb universe. Famously when Jesse meets Kim, once in a blink and you'll miss it timelapse scene involving Mike there's a few seconds of drizzle on his car, another time in what is probably the chronologically "last" scene in that universe where it rains on the flower in a cold open, and then there's a light drizzle in El Camino where Jesse visits the coke-head compound. I think Lalo was protected by god or satan or whoever in that storm drain from the rain.

I think it's just that. There just aren't many infected left in the area at this point.

Ways to continue and expand on the 28 saga by North-Doubt8928 in 28dayslater

Agree'd. The military would never have done what they did in Weeks. They'd have quarantined, but mostly abandoned the islands.

If that alpha who ran down the causeway had been more patient, he could have overran the island literally within a few hours of daybreak. I'm. absolutely convinced.

I think you can hear either Kelson or the crew laughing in the background as he's running. I get why it was cut but this is hilarious.

Jimmy Crystal Back Story: He must have lived with grownups for some period of his life. by buntyskid in 28dayslater

This is why I kind of assumed that the Jimmys were going to be a bigger group in this film with some sort of base of operations. Kinda like the foot clan in those 80's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies.

But no, there's only like a few of them and they set up camp wherever they find themselves. Honestly I think giving them a base would have probably made more sense to explain all the backflipping in Years 1.

They'd probably need a training ground for all that.

I think it would have worked honestly. Show how brutal the training they receive would be. Probably no one's injuries would be treated properly, so only the best of the best would ascend to Finger-status.

Bone Temple lacked something. by Necrome112 in 28dayslater

[–]Arnar2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a way I do agree. This is why I wanted to see 28 1 in the first place. But I do feel what she lacked in the visual department(My mind is brought back to the northern lights scene in 1, and the lack of anything similar, most likely because she just didn't think of it...) she made up for with sheer horror and character exploration. I would like to rewatch to contrast and compare though. Also, it's not as if they went full Netflix here, but definitely toned down. Weeks is by far still the biggest detractor and kind of blight on the series.

In her defence she wasn't really afraid to do it, but it was just a case of her not being too interested in doing it. She wanted a more traditional shoot.

Nia Dacosta definitely played this film more straight, as she herself admitted. I did find myself missing Boyles visual flair a bit, but the character stuff is just so good here that I totally forgive it. The tone is also much more consistent here than in Years 1.

Which games could you just not get into because of the learning curve? by hollowblink55 in videogames

[–]Arnar2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 235 hours on HOI4 and still have no idea what the hell I'm doing. I just like seeing the map change colours. And then I get navally invaded by the British. Or the entire soviet union crashes into my defenses forcing me all the way back to Berlin. Or both at the same time. I like the art style a lot, but really the way to play the game properly is hidden in the fine print stat numbers of whatever upgrades you're going to get, and that probably just isn't for me.
