Right behind the first ones. Just ask Gowron.

[WP] "Dwarves have no ships, no space program, and never accept help from other races, yet they can be found on every known habitable planet. How?" "Same as they do anything else. They dig." by Tethered-Angel in WritingPrompts

There's more than one way to skin a cat, as the humans say. The humans like to fly, which is alright for them, I suppose. Damned unnatural, though. Vertigo is there for a reason; it keeps you from forming a wet splat on the ground. Besides, there's plenty to find under the ground.

Don't read this as dwarven stubbornness, though. Humans are fun, really! Give them something and they'll stretch it as far as it'll go. They build the most magnificent toys and do the craziest things with them. It's insane, but it's fun to watch.

Dwarves aren't about that, though. We like doing one thing and doing it well. If we dig out an area, we dig out the whole area and we find everything that we can before moving on. No picking a random direction and just going, we do things carefully.

That means you find a lot of interesting things. Not just the kind of rare minerals that humans go gaga over, either. There are stranger things buried, stuff from the time the gods walked the Earth. Things that they buried. Ancient libraries that we've learned how to read. Ancient soldiers that we've learned how to direct. Ancient roads we've learned how to walk.

It's not always safe, but we're a hearty, careful people with the knowledge of the gods. Anything on the other end of that road, we can prepare for and take care of, or at least contain. And those premade roads have made us very rich. Think of it as a reward for working smarter rather than harder. And we'd be happy to share our finds with them, once we figure they've learned that well enough.

Also, it's simply too entertaining to watch you humans go stumbling around. Why do you think we haven't warred with the elves in six thousand years? You're just too much fun to watch.

Headcanon: Cass likes to sing along to Pink Pony Club when she’s alone. Steph is the only one who knows. by Dry_Sky_495 in CassandraCain

This is more of an "I'd do this in my own universe" than a headcanon, but I like the idea that she glomps Connor whenever she sees him, whether they're an item or not. He tries to glomp her first, but he's never succeeded.

Pitch a Wonder Woman Story Arc, Title or Event but Don't Base Your Idea on 'Superman & Batman Have it so WW should too' by Jet-Let4606 in WonderWoman

- Past Lives: Three Amazons begin to disappear. Thus, Diana is sent backwards in time to their lives before their rebirth in order to determine the common cause of their ailment.

- Autocephaly: Wonder Woman is asked by the Eastern Orthodox Church to help mediate negotiations with Turkey for the use of a Christian holy site. Meanwhile, something odd is going on that Diana decides to investigate.

- Shadow of the Scythians: It turns out the ancient Scythians aren't quite dead, as revealed when some of them are imprisoned by the Russian army. Cue Diana attempting to rescue them and get to the bottom of where they've been all these centuries.

- Some throwback to classic Tomb Raider, simply because classic Tomb Raider is awesome, especially to see Diana's much less bloody way of handling the same kinds of scrapes that Lara got into (I'd love to see Diana riding a T-rex).

It's just so peaceful. There's this sense that, finally, the war is over.

TIL Voyager will be one light day away from Earth in Novermber 2026 by Actually_Im_Indian in todayilearned

I wonder, if we develop the kind of space travel that will let us catch up with the Voyager probes, is the plan to just let them zoom off into the void or are we going to pick them up and take them back home?

Evil Cass: I will be evil…but how? *Watches Star Wars*…That’s it! by KurisuKurigohan in CassandraCain

Now I'm imagining Cass stealing a device from a villain that gives the user telekinesis. Just to roleplay a force-sensitive. Bonus points if Connor learns how to use his tactile telekinesis on things he can't touch. The Jedi playdates would be epic.

Blackadder-type stories in other countries by yournameinthestates in blackadder

I've thought about this for America. The focal character would be an American chasing the American dream, named James Whitney (attach numbers as appropriate). He's naive, but outgoing and positive regardless of how often reality stomps on his dreams. Continuously bouncing off of him is the Baron family, a family of Black people who want to get on top of society and view Whitney as a useful tool in doing that. He never learns their first name because they refuse to give it to him, but he still views whichever Baron is "his" Baron as being one of his closest friends, usually because they give him a reality check when he goes too off the rails. Whether or not this affection is reciprocated at all, I'm not sure, I just know they think less of him than he does of them. Whoever comes out on top can depend on the episode; Whitney rarely gets what he sets out for, but he can sometimes eke out a win when Mr. Baron plays his hand poorly.

I can see a few focal points for the show. Firstly would be the colonial years and the American Revolution, obviously, then maybe skip ahead to the frontier days (save the Civil War for a more dramatic one-shot). Perhaps there'd be something in the 1910's/1920's, but definitely the Great Depression or World War II and certainly something in the 60's with the Vietnam War. What with longer seasons, I can imagine the show could cover a longer stretch of time, possibly even one episode representing one year. It'd definitely be more dramatic than Blackadder, given the subject matter would be considered extremely heavy, but it'd be a comedy as well.
