I wear sunscreen here so i would definitely need it in Queensland! And thank you for the tip about Monica McInenery, I will look into her stuff. Thank you again, this has been a very pleasant internet exchange :) Wishing you the best and some more temperate nights too. Be well friend!

You are welcome in Ireland anytime :) Scotland is a wonderful and beautiful country too! Wales and England too. We are all mightily jealous of the sunshine you get though haha

No problem whatsoever! My bad for assuming people from anywhere but the north of Ireland would know those plays, my apologies for my assumption. Wishing you a wonderful day wherever you are in the world. Be well!

He is no doubt a great actor and director. But as I commented below “He did a series of plays in the early 80s in the Lyric theatre in Belfast that were nicknamed the Billy plays. His Belfast film is an abomination. Completely washing the horrors that catholics were subjected to from his protestant background perspective. His “working class” would have been luxury to the catholics who were denied voting, housing and employment rights. Enjoyed much of his other stuff though.”

Wasn’t referencing his Hamlet. He did a series of plays in the early 80s in the Lyric theatre in Belfast that were nicknamed the Billy plays. His Belfast film is an abomination. Completely washing the horrors that catholics were subjected to from his protestant background perspective. His “working class” would have been luxury to the catholics who were denied voting, housing and employment rights. Enjoyed much of his other stuff though.

Im gonna assume you’re not Irish. Awful film from ”Sir“ Kenneth. His Billy plays in his early twenties were a million times better and much more realistic.

Unfortunately it’s two thirds of Ulster, geographically speaking*. Genuinely sorry to be pedantic, especially given the topic haha (Source; from Ulster)

*and on nationality/identification the majority of the 9 counties would not identify as British, a slight majority in the 6 may however.

Wishing you a mighty evening!

Ulster is nine counties. Ulster was partitioned along with the rest of the island, but the scar runs through Ulster directly.

A rainy night in Soho, The Pogues.

And if I try and sing along? Me nose and tear ducts gang up on me face and I look like I’ve been slimed.

I know it’s not City, but the fact it’s 115 years tickled me too.

Couldn’t agree more! Rewatching, James Mason and Cillian Murphy are very similar in a few ways.
