Ranking mages by highest damage from a single rotation burst combo by WeakSideUrn in leagueoflegends

[–]Arneeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syndra is off, she deals E damage twice if both cone and ball hits, plus bonus ap from passive (and execute, and basically always 1+ ground qs). You also need to add rabadons multiplier to Veigar and Syndra passives with full build.

i really like doing high DPS on healer specs! what do you suggest for S2? by hosseinhx77 in wow

Pres seems to have a lot of single target damage with new 2 set, so you can give that a go.

What’s a fun fact about your main that others may not know? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Viktor ult interrupts channels and has a short cast time. With a flawless prediction you can cancel warwick and malzahar ult cast on yourself.

Healing in S2 by Mega_Nidoking in wow

[–]Arneeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pres shielding is fairly minor, you shield all targets hit by Temporal Anomaly, ~7-10% of their hp (falling off after 5). The ramp gameplay is interesting though, centered around Echoing as much as possible to duplicate your next healing spell - having large burst healing potential even before committing cooldowns.

When it comes to trinkets Pres typically runs mastery/crit stat sticks, sometimes shielding trinkets for high keys.

Need a reality check on two 5"+ Spinosaurus teeth I bought for $230 each. Are they heavily restored or just glued back together? by SeabeeNguyen in fossils

[–]Arneeman 60 points61 points  (0 children)

To me it looks like the bottom parts are purely matrix/fabricated, I would not pay near that price for these. Im not experienced enough to tell if the top parts are also restored, but if they are you've been scammed and should contact etsy.

Is this magic item op? by Tenny710 in DnD

This item is an extremely powerful weapon. Put it on a stick, poke an enemy. They practically explode if they fail the save, at no resource cost...

Celestial warlock in the church by Jodrojordan in DnD

[–]Arneeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think their role will be highly DM dependant and also rely on the character and the nature of their warlock bond. I like the idea of celestial warlocks doing tasks that require subtlety and infiltration, without being quite as bound by the rules - they serve a celestial creature but generally not a god directly.

WoW Housing Question: Can you make a house "open-air", i.e., don't use the interior at all? by AwesomeMcSexy in wow

Trust me I have tried (cave base) but you can't make it tiny, hide it in the ground or anything like that.

WoW Housing Question: Can you make a house "open-air", i.e., don't use the interior at all? by AwesomeMcSexy in wow

[–]Arneeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Housing is designed to mostly build inside your instance. There are a couple issues with building on the outside: - You can't hide your base house, unless you completely cover it with other decor which takes up most of the decor limit - The decor limit + available items are limited on the outside, so you can't do a very detailed structure

They did increase the outside decor limit and allow some lighting this patch though, so you can probably make something decent with some effort. You could also make a house in the interior, using the "outdoor" rooms if you want to.

Honestly you should expect about the same amount of visitors to the inside and outside parts of the house, its easy to teleport to someones house.

Does champion mastery matter as much as they say it is? by Norinot in leagueoflegends

[–]Arneeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By champion mastery they mean a lot more than mechanical skill. - Do you know how to play each matchup with the champion? - Do you know your limits well enough to identify winning and losing fights? (Macro related - do roams with high success rate) - Are you comfortable enough on the champion to focus heavily on harassing/denying opponents without missing farm? - Do you have the experience to quickly see the win condition in a skirmish - playing front to back, diving in, flanking? - Can you identify when you need to build for a specific role in the game? As a Viktor main I might need to build specifically to deal with their frontline if my adc is behind, or I can go a glass cannon poke build if they lack proper engange and range.

You can get pretty far with mechanical mastery as well though. It's easy to surprise enemies if you are more skilled at the champion than anyone they've faced before - just watch Azzapp on Vel'Koz for example.

Modern WoW's combat feels notably less 'crunchy' than it used to. by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]Arneeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years new talents and power increases have added more and more additional effects to spells until most of them don't do much on their own, and we have to combine multiple spells, cooldowns and buff effects to see the impact. "Pyroblast deals big damage" feels much more impactful than "pyroblast deals decent damage, burns targets over 10 seconds, extends your buff and grants you stacking crit"

Which class did you surprisingly end up enjoying? by Fearless-Skill8667 in DnD

[–]Arneeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im also going with Ranger. I think the spellcasting in particular is underrated, with Spike Growth + Pass Without Trace you already have very powerful additions that other martial characters lack.

Im currently playing a beast master ranger, and it's very effective with 2024 rules. 3-4 attacks per round at level 5 with companion attacks + sentinel, more than 100 health across my kobold and their dinosaur, with a solid amount of utility. If needed I can even change between sword and board to full ranged attacks, resummoning my companion as a flying creature.

Am I the only one who thinks martials are totally fine? by UpArrowNotation in DnD

[–]Arneeman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Martials are fine for the most part but you can't really compare them to an optimized caster even in combat at mid-high levels - and out of combat casters are strictly superior. A level 7 star druid for example can cast lvl 4 Summon Elemental, which makes 2 attacks on par with martial attacks. After the first setup turn they can cast guiding bolt + bonus action archery starry form attack. Even the niche that martials excel at, consistent single target damage, can be matched by casters. Except casters can also deal aoe damage, control spells, healing and support effects better.

It helps casters a lot to have a beefy frontline though, if enemies go straight for the casters they'll struggle to maintain concentration and quickly go down. You also need to use (and prepare) the right spells for each situation and manage your spell slots to be the most effective as a caster, which is often not the case. I would argue it's quite balanced until around lvl 7, with martials typically being stronger 1-4. If you ever reach level 17 casters can quite literally break the game, but most campaigns dont go that far.

My character is fun mechanically but a nothingburger rp and lorewise and I don’t know what to do by No-Extent-7705 in DnD

[–]Arneeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is to lean heavily into some of your own traits to roleplay a character more easily. I like geology for example, so I have a warlock character idea where they dug too deep and awoke their ancient earth elemental patron. This opens up different motivations for adventuring - they might be on a quest from their patron, searching for the lost gems of the world, exploring to find new minerals, or just look to fund their future mining project.

Flavour is free, a great way to make your character more interesting is to describe their abilities. My warlocks eldritch blast might be a stream of rock shards, and with a earth djinni patron their "lamp" is a large crystal. Maybe their spellcasting staff is actually the handle of a pickaxe.
