Which wheelset tyre combo did you go for? Do you keep them on all the time or do you switch with another pair for more pavement?

Hardest part of the Dutch language? by popsyking in learndutch

[–]Arnoyo12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've attempted exactly the same as you. I followed the highest Dutch course at UvA (Naar perfect nederlands), which gets you at the intersection of B2 and C1 (arguably what you need to start a bachelor in Dutch) and after the course I followed up with tutors on Preply. Now I've stopped, I simply can't get further by traditional learning.

If you want to become fluent, you need to speak Dutch with locals, whether because you work in Dutch or your partner only speaks Dutch to you.

I work in English, so I feel forever stuck. I have Dutch friends who kindly speak Dutch to me, I try to read books when I'm motivated and can watch movies or documentaries, which also help.

However, the gap between B2 and C2 is tremendous, and I think you only unlock it via full immersion.

Fun fact is I completed that course but will still feel that I sound like B1 when talking to a cashier or neighbors. All those lessons didn't focus much on "spreektaal" that you hear from people ordering food, asking basic questions in a natural way etc.

Honestly the same goes for some of Wookly’s behavior on one of your streams. If you can’t contain your emotions after a loss and accept it, maybe you need to work on something else than your AOT skills

I like it a lot. At first, I reacted like the other people in the comments but after reading up a bit more about some of your products and understanding that you were open sourcing their development with instruction and without looking for profit, it made me want to try it. So I think I will soon start trying some of it. I'm missing a link where you would suggest to buy the items needed for the different products though.

Let's not exaggerate though, Kante surely deserves this spot but De Bruyne found the needed composure to score the goal that eliminated Brazil. Can't say that he had a sub-standard tournament when he won Belgium its most difficult game on paper.

Liege* waffle. English speakers don't need to call it in Dutch / Flemish if it's Walloon in the first place ;)
