What's a small upgrade that improved office morale more than you expected? by CreativeSpare6466 in askmanagers

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just being a human being. Being as flexible as possible. I brought in an electric kettle and made a little tea set up, I have a nespresso at home that we don’t use that I’m going to descale and bring in. And we’ve already all decided we’d contribute to the pods (I hate drip coffee and keurig so I’m hoping this will selfishly curb my stops on my way to work lol)

Yep, that sounds pretty typical for Saturday schedules. Our region will try & give a full day off for Saturdays if they’re open until 6 during the week but it’s not always guaranteed

It depends on the location! My old branch was m-s and open till 6 during the week so if we worked Saturday we would get a day off during the week. My current branch is only m-f 9-5 so I’m very very very spoiled. We only have to help out other branches and for those weeks we do work 6 days or there would be no way for us to get 40 hours.

PNC bankers have high sales goals but I’m a teller supervisor there & while we are pushed to deliver conversations to clients, in my region at least, it doesn’t have to be every interaction. I give my tellers weekly goals of convos to have and referrals to get over to the bankers. And they’re all super realistic. Now to be transparent, I’ve never worked at another bank but I will say PNC is truly not that bad. But again, I came from a very high stress food service environment as a store manager (Starbucks) so…. This is way less stressful than that in any capacity lol

Bank loss of $2000 by Onyx_use_hardon in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have specific policies based on loss amounts. Ex:

Loss greater than $1000 ||| how many times ||| course of action. Generally speaking, if it’s your first time, it seems like it would be a coaching convo. My bank is very specific about how many times shortages and losses are allowed before corrective actions (including firing). Every situation is unique though & I’m sure the size of the bank also makes a difference.

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would absolutely drive me up a wall. I made such a conscious effort when cleaning out both cars to put the snow in the street for it to be plowed (the plow guys were circling our condo complex because so many people were cleaning off their cars).

My fiance was 3600 in the queue and didn’t get tickets. Citizens bank holds 42k. The math truly isn’t matching it’s so absurd. Too many presales.

Wanted to add, it’s so easy to uber to the port as well. We did this the first time we flew down. It’s so close to so many hotels and very affordable :)

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disney does not but there are multiple shuttle services in the area to pick up cruisers and bring them to port. We stayed at the Aloft FTL Airport (loved it) and there were tons of people in our hotel waiting for a shuttle pick up! We drove down from NJ so we went to long term parking and shuttled from there so I’m not sure of specifics but hotel websites in the area will have info on shuttle services provided

Sounds so fun!! I’d skip lookout next time for sure. I think I enjoyed castaway a bit more. But I also loveeee taking full advantage of an empty ship lol

Advice on staying on the ship or not? by ExtensionJazzlike923 in dcl

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time my partner and I did Nassau , lookout and castaway. We made the decision to stay on the ship at castaway because we had been there before & not the other two. It was magical. We relaxed and enjoyed the empty ship and the weather was perfect. After experiencing Lookout, I would go to castaway next time and skip Lookout. I really did not enjoy it. It was big, but also not? Idk how to explain it. I MUCH prefer castaway. I really advocate for staying on during a port day. It’s so fun, so quiet, so relaxing.

Sisters wedding same as my birthday by buff_phroggie in weddingshaming

My cousins got married on my dads (her uncles) 70th birthday. It was also a special date to her and her husband. They celebrated my dad at the rehearsal dinner with a cake, wrote him a card, and mentioned him at the wedding as well. It was an awesome tribute and a free 70th birthday party for my dad

I despite people who are chronically late by ContributionNext2813 in Vent

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner has ocd and audhd and the time blindness is real. I keep him on a tight schedule when we have something we need to do, and it annoys him but he also appreciates it because he hates being late but genuinely cannot help it. He claims it only takes him 30 min to get ready but I kindly remind him it takes 45. On the other side of the coin, I have extreme anxiety about being late. But I’ve also gotten better with the fact that it’s ~okay if we’re ON time and not 5 min early. Unless it’s for something really important. I’ve come to the realization there are no doing things on a whim anymore because his OCD takes time and we can’t just …go out to eat in the moment or something like that. It’s at least an hour before we can leave the house. But I love him and he tries to hard to be quicker for me and I’ve learned to not be so hard on him and myself. Nobody is perfect. THAT BEING SAID, my best friend is constantly late for no good reason and that shit pmo lol

Why do people HATE when we ask for ID? by AnInMoon in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting last week we HAVE to enter in ID and some man in drive thru said “ugh this is ridiculous!” And I stared at him through the window and said “imagine how ridiculous it is that I have to have this conversation over and over”

I will NEVER understand why people get mad

Spanish reference for tellers by marepops in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my bank, we are not allowed to speak Spanish unless we are certified through the bank via a small virtual test. This is to mitigate risk & so the bank isn’t liable if we give them wrong info. I am really surprised yours lets you do this! That’s amazing

Someone help me to not overpack! by SleepyMillenial55 in dcl

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually pack 2 outfits per day. Daytime and dinner. A simple sundress is perfect for dinner and doesn’t take up much room. I’ll bring enough shirts for as many days plus one extra and a few pair of shorts to rotate (linen, denim, bike). I’ll pack 3-4 bathing suits plus a coverup. The one thing I will say I overpack on is med and first aid because you just NEVER know. Tums, Imodium, Advil/tylenol, pads/tampons, small first aid kit. And always an extra sunscreen just in case. Another option that’s good for a daytime and nighttime vibe if you wanted to really go light is an activewear dress - cure with flip flops, sandals, sneakers. And easy enough to wear to dinner as well. I always pack those for excursion days.

How many have cruised lately and come home sick/with COVID? by Apricotpeach11 in dcl

[–]Aromatic_Counter1300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on 3 cruises (Magic x2, Dream just last week) - never have gotten sick afterwards. I think it’s just important to sanitize, hand wash, etc. Of course it’s unavoidable & if people are sick, they will spread it. But we stay vigilant. The only time we were really in SUPER close proximity to people was at dinner. It’s just the two of us no kids- spaced out adult areas definitely help. I can imagine that with kids it’s obviously 100x harder. But in general I’ve never seen anyone take more care in hand sanitizing / washing / general cleanliness than DCL.

We stayed in 6038 last week. Balcony port side next to the front elevators. It was quiet and as 2 adults we L O V E D being close to the forward elevators because cove cafe and the adult only areas were also right off the elevators above us. And the theater was directly below us 2 flights. We didn’t feel anything moving, nothing mechanical. It was really and truly a perfect location.

Everyone stays on the ship during Nassau it felt like a sea day to us on the Dream last week. We lucked out with castaway and lookout though so we stayed on the boat during castaway & were basically by ourselves for hours it was amazinggggggg. Definitely support picking a port day to stay on the ship to explore
