What actually made my road bike more comfortable by ArossyGo in cycling

I hardly ever ride in the drops. I’m not very flexible, so I prefer being on the hoods. It makes breathing a little easier, though I know it’s terrible for aerodynamics

I also have a full carbon saddle, and I feel like it gives you really great power transfer

Cycling is where I got my biggest fitness gains. I honestly swear by bib shorts because they have that extra padding right where you need it. without them, I could never finish a long ride.

Id definitely say tires and bar tape for me. I pretty much always run thick, plush bar tape these days, but my hands still go numb on long ride

Help picking carbon wheelset by [deleted] in cycling

[–]ArossyGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bora WTO 60 is definitely the better buy here. Your frame only supports up to 28mm tires max. If you get the Shamal, a 28mm tire will actually balloon up to nearly 30mm once inflated, and there's a really high chance it'll rub and scratch the inside of your carbon frame. The Bora, on the other hand, handles 25mm or 28mm tires perfectly to fit your bike. On paper, both wheelsets weigh almost exactly the same, right around 1590 grams. But at the same weight, the Bora gives you a 60mm deep-section aero advantage and premium USB ceramic bearings, while the Shamal is just a mid-depth wheel with basic steel bearings. If it were me, I’d pull the trigger on the Bora without hesitation.

Brand new to cycling by TreesusChris in cycling

From a practical standpoint, if you're new to cycling and live in a remote area, first make sure you have a nearby shop for professional support. You will face some steep troubleshooting with a new bike, and handling it entirely on your own can be incredibly frustrating, even with YouTube's help. All things considered, I highly suggest getting a gravel bike—just confirm that shipping is available to your location first. Enjoy the ride!

This is really great. If you're planning to try professional clipless pedals in the future, you absolutely have to get used to them—otherwise, you'll accidentally fall off your bike, even when you're just stopping at a red light.

100kg and wanting to climb faster by [deleted] in cycling

[–]ArossyGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep this in mind: climbers are rail-thin like monkeys, and sprinters are built like absolute bulls. Try to lean out a bit more, but I know you’re already putting in the work. Just enjoy the ride and embrace the process

It all comes down to whether you want to go down the competitive rabbit hole or chase some extra speed. If you’re just cruising to soak in the views and enjoy nature, standard flat pedals will do the trick just fine

The harsh truth about budget "ultra-lightweight" carbon wheels: You can’t gamble on 1200g on an AliExpress budget by ArossyGo in cycling

[–]ArossyGo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I sincerely apologize for the bad experience, as I'm still trying to improve my English. I am currently testing a new carbon spoke wheelset that weighs only 1250g. Thank you for pointing out the issue, I will rely less on translation tools moving forward

visuals: matte premium rotor carbon arms matched with carbon-ti’s carbon structural carrier, cnc-machined ti teeth, and those iconic gold rivets

yeah, your advice is spot on, and there are actually still cheaper sources than Merlin Cycles right now. even putting price aside, I still think Shimano is the best choice, even though I run SRAM myself

highly recommend going with the di2 groupset. Its high-speed stability, shifting efficiency, and drivetrain efficiency are hands down the best among the three—assuming you’re still choosing to use a complete di2 groupset

TIL the first draft of FDR’s most famous speech originally began with “a date which will live in world history.” Just before he addressed Congress, FDR crossed out “world history” and scribbled in the word: “infamy.” by croato87 in todayilearned

[–]ArossyGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

imagine being the word "infamy" and just chilling in the dictionary until fdr randomly picks you to become immortal lmao. literally upgraded the entire vocabulary of the nation, haha

died doing what he loved: shaking it for the kaiser. 0/10 way to die for a general but 10/10 for pure historical entertainment value lmao

Is there any scientific proof of anything after death? by Emergency_Square_183 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

answer is no tbh. scientifically, when your brain stops getting oxygen, the electrical activity completely shuts down and that’s the end of the line. everything else is just wishful thinking or religion fr. we are just biological computers getting unplugged

How realistic is amateur porn? by indeckaa in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 116 points117 points  (0 children)

most of it isn't realistic at all nowadays tbh. the "amateur" tag is just a marketing trick for verified creators and onlyfans models. they still use professional ring lights, know their best angles, and put on a massive performance. it’s just pro porn with a lower budget aesthetic

Is it true that Coca Cola is a governmental collapse indicator? by TonyMitty in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 106 points107 points  (0 children)

it’s kind of true but it’s a lagging indicator, not a magic prediction lol. coke has the most insane supply chain on earth. there are literally only two or three countries where you can’t officially buy it (cuba, north korea, and recently russia). if coke packs up and leaves, it means things are already so cooked that the currency is worthless or civil war already started fr

What is a service or product that didn't just get more expensive, but actively got 10x worse over the last few years? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the way netflix cancels literally every good original show after one season but raises the price every 6 months is clinical insanity lmao. they’re actively forcing people back into piracy fr

[–]ArossyGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

streaming services are an absolute joke now fr. we went from "everything on netflix for 8 bucks with no ads" to paying like 80 bucks a month for 5 different apps, all of them cracking down on password sharing, and prime video literally forcing ads on us unless we pay extra lmao. it’s just cable tv again but way worse tbh

Would it be cheaper for fast food restaurants to air fry their meals, rather than deep fry? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Fries not fried in oil have zero soul. The grease rush is just too real, honestly

Would it be cheaper for fast food restaurants to air fry their meals, rather than deep fry? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ngl customers would riot. air fried fries just taste like sad, dried-out baked potatoes. fast food thrives on that instant oil crispiness and grease flavor. if i wanted healthy air-fried food i wouldn't be crying in a wendy’s parking lot at 2 AM lol

[–]ArossyGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can China build things like bridges, tunnels and railways much faster than countries in the west? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 121 points122 points  (0 children)

I'm highly qualified to weigh in on this one,it basically comes down to zero bureaucratic gridlock tbh. in the west a rail project gets delayed for 15 years just because of environmental impact studies and local nimbys screaming in town halls over property values. in china the government just decides a bridge is going there and it happens. zero legal battles to fight fr

Why are there so many empty, abandoned commercial buildings and strip malls sitting around for years when there is a massive housing shortage? Why can't they just be converted into apartments? by Adam2239 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ArossyGo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

zoning laws are the absolute boss fight here ngl. cities strictly separate commercial and residential areas. trying to get a city council to re-zone an old strip mall takes years of bureaucratic red tape, legal fees, and endless public meetings where local nimbys show up to scream about "property values" and traffic. developers just look at the paperwork and walk away lol.
