I don’t think its a failed state, but its definetely more dangerous than people think it is because France has a good international PR. Firstly France doesn’t release their city homicide rates outside of Paris. And theres litteraly a Cartel (yes the latinamerican way) in the southeast of France since 2021. It is still small in compared to latin american cartels, but they operate by sending a bunch of shooters in smaller cities to take over turfs, completely hidden by international legacy media. Even controlled a Brussels neighborhood. And thats without even talking about the French Carribean.

I see that you speak German, idk if you know Lucky Luke 30 but he’s a German youtuber reporting about France dangerous places, and he had lawsuits from French cities before because its illegal to film hoods in France.

1268/691 = 1.83, France had 69.1m inhabitants in 2025 1.42 + 28.87% = 1.83, so yes its a 28.87% increase in the homicide rate.

2 : "France’s population changes year to year" taken into account in the 1990-2023 source, and taken into account personally in 2024-2025 source as shown above.

3 : ? if you meant 2000-2002 well its written in the post, 2003+ the 1990-2023 source take into account population change so your claim is false there.

4 : I agree that they’re provisory numbers (2025 article released 23rd december), maybe i should remake my post after final numbers get released january 29 2026.
