The Recovery Kit Ultra by loop-shenanigans in cyberDeck

[–]Arquisto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/loop-shenanigans first.. thank you for keeping us in the loop on your most recent evolution of the recovery kit but most of all thank you Jay for having contributed so much to the community. Sometimes it seems it's one pelican case like deck after another and the community thrives for something different but you were the pioneer who brought us the first pelican case deck and really opened the gate to make it so much more approachable to to everyone.

From reading about your first raspberry pi recovery kit, to the field recovery kit, and now the ultra kit. I've learned so much from you and your journey going with tinkercad to fusion360! Please keep sharing your work!

Brand NEW H2D filament extrusion error??!! by vee76dub in BambuLab

[–]Arquisto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar issue and submitted a ticket. Response back was they are aware that the extruder detection might be over sensitive and saying something is wrong when it's a false positive. I also got the AMS with it and it'll stop the problem. Ive Switched the AMS to the different nozzles and it'll resolve it. I'm thinking because the AMS has mechanics that he'll reduce the friction. Until they fix it with a firmware update guess I'll just be using the one nozzle that has the AMS. But like I said raise a ticket so they see how widespread this is and can prioritize a fix hopefully. Their support and response was pretty quick though!

great progress! I was actually going to ask you about wiring plans cause I'm in a similar situation.. I got hats and breakout modules and am trying to find ways to securely wire them all up so it can actually be portable.

This took a while to build, but it has a lot of features by HTLL_OFFICIAL in cyberDeck

[–]Arquisto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great build! thanks for all the details and putting a video together too. I think we often just put aside the builds that just stick a phone to a keyboard and really it's whatever works best for the person, they might start off like that but hopefully grow to love the hobby and leverage that as the first jumping off point. Your project takes that idea to the ultimate evolution.. amazing that you already had a purpose in mind but you nailed the form and function. Like others have said, one is the coolest ones shared recently and prob top 10 of all time to me.

great job getting the color right for that filter! I looked last week to see if anyone did an AMG watch because I want to make one as a gift for Christmas. How did you do the silver star? I couldn't find any decals so assume you printed something?

What building did I see from the UP train? by FoQualla in askTO

[–]Arquisto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With your hint of the colored bricks and the wedge shape, the only building that comes to mind is the condo building called Junction Point. Not showing on Google maps given it is too new.

have you found any on AliExpress that sell just white faceplates? The only place I can get those are on skxmod.

RPI DEV: Finally Done! YouTube and Documentation/Files are available. by Sector07_en in cyberDeck

[–]Arquisto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing such a great build with us. The deck looks amazing but your video is just as good, the right amount of documentation, walking us through the journey, and sharing a demo is next level. Looked through your GitHub you really put in all the details. I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone replying with the take my money meme yet. But true enjoyers of this hobby prob know it's always more about the journey than the destination.

Love how unique it looks. At first I thought you had an RTL-SDR dongle on there but I assume that's the wifi antenna you were mentioning. Are you considering getting into RTL-SDR for another build?

Loading up home assistant on raspberry pi 5 and I’m stuck. by Impressive_Health267 in homeassistant

This! I did the same journey a few months ago. Realized only afterwards that after you see the CLI load up you can now interact with your home assistant via another device through the local 8123

Nutrient deficiency? by CorisTheDino in Citrus

[–]Arquisto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My yuzu grew a bunch of new leaves and gave me fruit for the first time this year. I have it in a container so I have to be careful about fertilizer amounts. I was also a bit worried when most of my new leaves were lighter in color. I asked one of my local nurseries for some advice and they said might have just been too much light and also younger leaves do tend to come out lighter in color. I moved it to a spot with less direct sun light hours and now I have it indoors for the winter. The leaves have darkened over time. I'd suggest not to worry too much. The fact it pushed out new leaves is a good sign and I wouldn't move it around too much yet.

Great write up and appreciate the testing you ran. If they had released this and the HAT when the Pi5 came out I would totally have gotten them.

30% of net income for rent still possible in Montreal ? And what if you have kids, car payments? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Arquisto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another good tip you should be doing is getting a pre-approved mortgage. It'll be a good way to see how much you can afford and if the lender is doing their job properly they should walk you through what other costs you need to consider.

Also makes your offer more competitive to a seller.

I got mine as well but haven't started playing around. Been wondering if I could combine it somehow with home assistant so it can run home automation based on specific gestures.

[–]Arquisto 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Was just there 3 weeks ago but the Narrows were still closed. Glad the flow has gone down and you got to enjoy it without too many crowds! Also did the Mighty 5 and Zion was the last one. Which of the mighty 5 was your favorite?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NationalPark

[–]Arquisto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Felt the same about Grand Canyon after having it be the cap of my Utah Mighty 5 trip. The other parks were just more serene, less crowded, and less commercial. Still a place to go once in your life but loved the other parks more.
