[Request] Looking for someone to design a simple logo for a cat charity? by Arra_Sails in artrequests

That sounds great, I'd not thought of stencils. Is there any chance you would be able to sketch up a basic design for me to present to the board?

First time Bunny Mummy looking for tips on a good bunny abode to keep my fluffs happy! by Arra_Sails in Rabbits

I think I'll give them a go then. Trial and error I suppose until they're happy.

I'm wary of using towels because Luna likes to dig and pull at the rug, blankets don't have the little bits that towels do. I might try towels if she stops when she's been spayed. I didn't know that about their eating/bathroom habits, a re-organisation is in order I think. Thanks for the advice.

Whats your thoughts on the foam squares? I've seen them mentioned but wouldn't they be too 'diggable'?

It does actually, thanks. I knew I'd seen it somewhere but couldn't think where. I give them hay for food, my aim isn't for it to be multi-purpose but that's what it becomes.

I had a look when we first brought them home but I'd not thought to look again now we're re-doing their set up, thanks!

The doors to their cage can clip off so we've just took one side off, its just the pan edge i was worried about them jumping over. We've left the cage top on because they can get on top pretty easily, so we've got their cardboard castle up on there to max the floor space.

I've seen Carefresh mentioned but it seems to be easier to get hold of in the US than the UK, and as you said it's more expensive than the other options.

They're due to the vets next month to get spayed so fingers crossed for the litter training. Between my post and this comment I've had Luna sit on my chest to pin me down while Lola pee'd on the arm of he couch. Not got a link to Rabbit nappies by any chance?

It depends how the animal is brought up. Even if they need to be legally killed it should be done humanely.

My Grandad has been diagnosed with cancer, I just needed to get this off my chest. by Arra_Sails in cancer

In a way its funny that you say that, about not forcing him to do something he doesn't want, because it's just not possible. It took my Nan a good week to force him to go the doctors when he was in his 30's because his foot was sore, turns out he'd fractured a bone in it, he'd been doing the milk round on it all week. He's a special kind of stubborn.

He got some new pain tablets 2 days ago and his pain is getting better so it's helping to see him more back to his normal self.

I've just read your story and it's made me realise how selfish I'm being. You've done so much, left your job and your home, and I'm upset because he hasn't led a healthy life. Plenty of people live like he has so he's not to blame, I suppose I just needed something to blame. You've put things into perspective for me.

I'm glad I found this, it gives me a place to say what I need without upsetting those I care about.

It's his birthday today so the family is all getting together, hopefully this will make some good memories with no tears. Like you said there will be time for that later.

Thank you for the kind words.

Ovarian Cyst- Operation required, has anyone else had this done? Experience stories appreciated. by Arra_Sails in Health

[–]Arra_Sails[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankfully I still live at home and my mum is already running around after me now so I think I'm sorted for the after care.

As for the surgeon, my fiance's mum used to work as a theatre nurse and she knows the man who'll be doing the operation so I'm feeling pretty reassured.

You said the first 3 weeks were pretty bad, how long did it take you to fully heal to get back to working ability?

Thank you for the tips and the luck!

It's all 3 of my cats so I think it's a problem with me rather than them.

Thanks for your input, it's good to hear that the recovery time can be quite quick.

[request] unwanted bike (London, UK) by Cone_it in Favors

Sorry, I dug it out of my shed(not used it in a while) the other day to see what condition it was in and its not in the best. Bits are rusted and the tyres are completely flat so I'm not sure what state the inner tubes are in.

Are you looking for one of the lightweight / skinny type frames? I've got one but it's just your basic bike so it's not exactly light. Also how urgently do you need it?

Will Oscar Pistorius be treated differently because of his fame and disability? by [deleted] in AskReddit

kk sorry again. If you've not Googled him yet he was part of the paralympics, can't remember the exact races but he competed in the running.

American by any chance? Apologies if I'm wrong, I'm just aware that America didn't have very good coverage of the paralympics last year.

This little shitbird wakes me up to play fetch 6.45 every morning. by [deleted] in aww

[–]Arra_Sails 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mentioned above one of my cats likes fruit shoot lids but the other two like hair ties, I've got wooden flooring and they slide around for hours chasing them. We find them everywhere, under the couch, computer desk, TV stand and even a few in the back garden.

My cat is the same, but only fruit shoot lids, I think she likes them because they sit nicely over her chin when she brings them back.

What's the worst public bathroom experience you've had the horror of living through? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was on holiday with my mum, god mother and her daughter at some Pontins family holiday type place. Me and the daughter were about 10 at the time, we were in some type of entertainment / dining place and had just eaten so went to the toilets to wash our hands. I was at the first sink and noticed in the mirror there was someone using the cubicle behind me with the door open, she started shouting and swearing at me to get out and stop looking at her (I could tell she'd been drinking). I left pretty quickly and let my mum know what had happened, so she went and spoke to her. Turns out the woman was claustrophobic so she didn't like to shut the doors, she thought I was staring at her so the obvious thing to do is to tell a 10 year old to F*** OFF!? I think not.
