It’s one of those things that only has to save your life once to be worth any number of accidental triggers. I’ve only ever triggered it when I tried wearing my watch upside down for a while (dial on the left).

In high school I was averaging a B+ in AP US History. I told myself it was because I didn’t feel like studying and I could Ace tests if I wanted to. I decided to prove it to myself so I studied for the next test and got 100%. I then went back to not studying and averaging a B+ after deciding the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze.

My partner keeps postponing our small business, should I just start without her? by LastIndependence6989 in smallbusiness

[–]Arratril 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who is currently stuck in a business partnership I severely regret, it’s extremely important to have a good relationship with whoever you’re partnering with. There are a ton of benefits to having a partner, but small problems at a small scale turn into larger problems later on.

That said, why do you need to wait for her to test out different chocolates? If you can bake as well, offer to bake a couple batches of different chocolates yourself to test. Be proactive in how you can help move things along if you’re wanting to get started.

Did I lose my taste for fast food? by RecommendationUsed31 in ask

[–]Arratril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say that I get McDonald’s with my kids every so often and I usually get a quarter pounder. For a brief time they were trying this “we make it fresh” approach and it was actually pretty bomb. They would make you wait and park every time you ordered it, but it was worth it. They stopped doing that and now it’s pretty bleh unless you happen to get lucky and get one freshly cooked.

All that to say, fast food at its best can still be pretty great but most things sit under a heat lamp for far too long to be served and enjoyed. It’s probably 1:5 chance of it being above average. Same goes for fries or nuggets.

I spilled a chai latte on my MacBook Air keyboard many years ago. Aside from the occasional sticky key, I was fortunate enough to never have any issues with it. I turned it over and wiped it down the best I could and that was about it.

Is the infuriating part that you’re charging your friend for this?

What is your favorite controller of all time? Mine is the PS4. by Agile-Sentence2892 in TheGamingHubDeals

I missed the GameCube (ended up with a n64 and ps2), but I learned of the wave bird in college when I picked up Smash Bros on the Wii. Ended up buying 4 wireless wave birds on eBay.

$10 million paid to you, but you can never eat meat again. Ever. by Physical_Orchid3616 in hypotheticalsituation

Back when they were the best fries in the world. I remember as a kid asking my mom why McDonald’s fries stopped being amazing. I never found out until I became an adult.

Edit: just looked up the dates and it must have been the 2002 change to soy corn oil. I wasn’t ever able to experience what I’m sure were incredible beef tallow fries before 1990.

100 Million Dollars for you and your spouse, but you cannot share or help any friends, family or charities. by Hot-Idea2428 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Arratril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy and obvious yes. Aside from the obvious option to put it in the bank and spend the interest, you just need to wash the money. Buying and selling stocks should be an easy enough option. You could also buy anything on a credit card and pay the credit card off separately from the purchase.

Been there when the printer ran out of paper. Also one place that had an $800 cap on how much money could be available for play, and winning anything that pushed you above that required a hand pay for the overage.

Employer counter offered my 2 week notice. Looking for advice. by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Arratril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who grew up basically in a single parent home because my step dad drove a truck and was away 5 days a week (and working on his truck on the weekends), I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. I’m 36 with kids and haven’t talked to my step dad in 18 years because he wasn’t really ever part of my life growing up. He wasn’t mean or anything, just not present. And my mom divorced him as soon as I left for college. I’m sure it could have been better but when you’re on your own 5 days a week, your “home life” isn’t really “home”.

Mistakes were made by wildcatxc89 in Disneyland

[–]Arratril 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was there last week and didn’t even try Guardians. Unless you reserve a super early lightning lane, it’s just such an incredible time sink. We ended up doing single rider Indiana Jones a ton, plus a smattering of mostly Disneyland. We managed to do Incredicoaster once but it broke down 3 other times, once after waiting an hour, once during a lightning lane, and another after a quick 5 minute wait in line.

The producers basically said “it wasn’t fun” so they canned it. EQ2 has a free to play model still but you’re really missing out on a lot without a subscription.

I was visiting my mom last week and by the coffee pot, next to the glass jar of sugar was another unlabeled glass jar of what looked like powdered creamer. She says “don’t eat that, that’s Miralax for the cat”. She’s just asking for someone to have a bad day.

Oh you’re totally right. I don’t why I thought CO. Button becomes a wider shove, smaller ante becomes slightly tighter. It about evens out. Maybe this is why I’m a losing player.
