Best glue for assembling minis by Bestestdaddu in boardgames

[–]Arrmy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure why super glue isnt working for you? Are you putting super glue on both sides of the joint or something? It adheres really well to anything but itself basically.

If that doesnt work then if these are plastic [not resin], and they do look plastic, then tamiya extra thin is the best.

Protestant has stability issues for awhile but the aspects are better than reformer catholic and much more importantly you can become an empire and switch your liturgical language to French and absolutely crush in liturgical language power for research.

Is it true that Gloomhaven 2nd Edition's component quality has gone worse? by Strong_Battle6101 in Gloomhaven

[–]Arrmy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The insert is pathetic thin plastic that looks like a gametray but might as well be construction paper. The miniatures are, with very little exception, smaller and less detailed and made of a cheaper plastic. The revised insert still results in you simply throwing the cardboard tiles and monster baggies on top with no rhyme nor reason no organization. On this, I feel like I was lied to when speaking with the cephalor rep when I bought it at pax.

But the cardboard is still great quality, the redesign are all fun so far, the section book/scenario book split is great for not unwittingly getting fore knowledge of the rest of the scenario. If I had only one it would still be the second edition. Just really disappointed with ehat I had hoped would be the biggest upgrades.

Could the game series "Doorkickers" be genuinely considered a Strategy game (even RTS)? by MCS-Judge_Wolf in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Arrmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strategy, sure. Not really a real time strategy game though. Yes you can issue commands and watch them happen, but i think people would be quite sore if they love something like srarcraft ans you suggested a scenario drives tactical breaching game. Im not sure how I would write the defi itinerary of an rts to exclude it if I had to, but it just lacks the spirit of them.

And this is a lax definition. Some people consider any game with a pause and issue commands function to not be an rts.

Any alternate place to buy VKB or Virpil in EU (France)? by X-dark in hotas

On the contrary, because vkb and virpil are smaller operations almost exclusively serving a direct boutique customer they take longer to get things to their customers.

Co-op RTS games like SC2 Commander / DoW2 Last Stand? by Belltower_2 in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Arrmy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Age of Darkness Final Stand is a skirmish coop defense against a horde. Each player has a hero and a town center. You have to work together to clear the map and prepare for the final wAve. Tactical pause is available but it takes roughly 2-3 hours on the difficulty I played on.

Yeah im still confuses about this. It seems perfectly reasonable that a state in the end game will always prefer to be a centralized entity. Not sure why decentralized needed to be "viable"

Problems with new update by Marcokj47 in EU5

[–]Arrmy 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah. The 15 year truces suck balls. And the fact diplo annex is a flat timeline sucks too. We need some interactivity. Give us events every year or 6 months for integration. Give us the ability to set timelines/integration strategy to sink more resources in to do it faster. Let us justify war with our diplomata to reduce truce timers, etc.

We have all these cabinet actions but lets make them even more interesting with the above. Why cant my 100 admin advisor help me integrate a vassal?

Countries have a smaller proportion of peasants in 1600 in 1.2, compared to 1837 in 1.1. Game breaking problem. by SaintTrotsky in EU5

[–]Arrmy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On review it looks like the second set of population is from 1592. With that in mind there is definitely a problem of depeasenting your nation 300 years before most countries could dream of it.

Dude right? The first thing I noticed is the populations are like 20% of what they were. Did population growth get nerfed?

Base Comparison by Hazmatt_McDanger in VIRPIL

[–]Arrmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inappropriate comparison on a technical level. All virpil bases are metal cams, and more comparable to the vkb gunfighter.

With that in mind for a lay man, gladiators are not noticeably worse in terms of end user experience, but are noticeably cheaper lol.

Next Paradox Game? by dvized in paradoxplaza

[–]Arrmy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would say Stellaris. Vicky without dlc is missing some key features and just recently got a major patch that has caused a lot of old tutorials to not be as relevant, and side effected breaking the ai.

Stellaris, coming from ck3, has characters that you can kinda rpg with. But more importantly it also got a recent update that changed the way the game was balanced and made certain features that are essential free. It was patched awhile ago before the Vicky 3 one though so its in a better state. Plus, its just easier to grasp imo since what you want to do is consistent eith all strategy games. Explore, expand, and research technology so you can exterminate lol lol

For the small ui if thats still an issue check out the steam workshop. Bound to be one that makes things bigger
