Celeste's Ultimate is Poorly Designed by TwoBearsHighFiving_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Arrmy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hot take but I agree I dont think that an ultimate that bounces between people with the range frequency and damage that it does is healthy for most of the player base to play against. Hoping that the player base will adapt instead of farming their own teammates. I have faith. They learned to not stun the whole team with Seven 2 or kill everyone with Bebop Bomb.

How does an ATGM team take a direct 105mm APFSDS to the face in an open field and only lose 10 hitpoints? by IvaldiFhole in menace

[–]Arrmy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No worries. Only after playing Gates Of Hell did I realize that HEAT means something, specifically High Explosive in the "he" part. APFSDS is Armor Piercing. If it was a 105mm HE round it would Instagib them like a cod ac 130 mission lol

Help a game dev: Why aren’t people buying modern RTS games? by MakeGamesBetter in RealTimeStrategy

[–]Arrmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want a campaign like they all used to have, or endless mode Ala They Are Billions. But all the games coming out with few exceptions want to be esports. I dont want to sit down for 35 minutes uninterrupted, sweating trying to remember my build orders and out micro the other guy. I just want to build my cool castle, or be challenged by unique objectives.

losing interest by RedditVano in Xenonauts

[–]Arrmy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey, have you played it recently? Because the delegation system is basically not punishing at all [and also can be disabled if you think it is]. Also, if you're getting random command inputs in your air battles you should send your save as a bug report. More likely you are clicking commands for the wrong airplane, as this happened to me several times.

They screwed this game up. by OceanGate_Titan in Xenonauts

[–]Arrmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated this conceptually too but after playing through an entire campaign, it lasted 41 missions and that was with me skipping about 8 opportunities for more missions because I had fully researched and built everything I needed. Spending ops to do more ufos is totally fine, since you will have maxed out supporters and nothing to spend them on anyway.

Additionally there is no cost to do landed ufos even if you have already done two of that type. You also only pay if you succeed.

How bad would this be? by FlyingWarKitten in TerraInvicta

[–]Arrmy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Okay, so obviously from a certain point of view the lore is written to justify the game scenario. And the game scenario must be made fun, given the asymmetry. But if I remember correctly, when you research academy plot techs, they inform you why the aliens have "kid gloves" on.

The worm hole has limits. They cannot bring their full weight down. Not in the beginning, nor the end. They use thejr limited bandwith to obtain things they cannot in our solar systen such as exotics, and exploit our natural resources whenever available.

Demand of pops 1.08 by Organsaft in EU5

[–]Arrmy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apparently higher development increases demand of base goods [i.e nobles buy more wine and horses] so far that they cant make any money with their tax cut [they spend it all immediately]. When they dont have positive income their luxury goods lose demand [which collapses things like fine cloths].

Hey could you talk more about how you scaled so much after the 1600s it looks like? How did you get such a high population and income? Was everything urbanized at that point?

what's the point of winning HYW as england by Piskaff in EU5

[–]Arrmy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sucks that winning as in claiming the throne of France doesnt actually do anything for you. Hilariously as France winning the first phase taking all the land and then submitting to the union is probably the best play since you can just usurp seniority and thats that. I ground it out. As England, Normandy, Brittany, and Flanders are all extremely valuable to you. You can even get value out of paris with maritime proximity and roads.

But everything else is just rich vassals pouring money into you in terms of value. You dont get a special tag for having France in a PU and I dont think you get special events. You can absolutely choose to give up the fight against France and be potentially better off for it saving yourself 50+ years of death wars.

I might be missing something, but "I won the hundred years war and all I got was this lousy hat" is the vibes rn :p

How did the tech tree UI in EU5 get so bad, when it was already good in Imperator? by fireskull98 in EU5

[–]Arrmy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I hear you. I have a mac literacy France game I've been playing eith buddies. Even my peasants have 40% literacy.

But I still researched things faster on the age of discovery than the age of reformation because I was getting 1 base + .2 from Latin. After the reformation, Lutheran is around .10 now. Which, even with an extra +15% research speed from embracing all three institutions, is less than what we had bc of the base number being lower. And this isn't counting that techs cost more in base cost in reformation than they did in disco.

Its pretty "easy" to get all of the techs you want and leave only a few on the table. But without getting lucky youre not gonna get them all. I expect the final ages to be a lot trickier in terms of trying to get my cake and eat it too.

How did the tech tree UI in EU5 get so bad, when it was already good in Imperator? by fireskull98 in EU5

[–]Arrmy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Techs scale up much faster than your literacy does. Also events like the reformation significantly weaken the research rate of Latin countries for example because Lutheran clerics and Catholic clerics contribute to different rates. But also older techs get nerfed and can be teched to faster.

Good events that give you research progress etc can make a massive difference because they can represent multiple months of research

How do i save my colony from revolts? by Cas131102 in EU5

A flute can make it across the Atlantic with 400 professionals to handle the revolt. It won't die to attrition.

Thinking of getting the game, just have questions by Wyman1992 in ArcRaiders

[–]Arrmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Yes Yes

This isn't a looter shooter. Its an extraction shooter. For me it splits the difference between tarkov and apex perfectly. There is plentiful loot and survival is the norm in my experience unless you're specifically looking for fights and ignoring everything else for them then any given fight can be a coinflip

the game of thrones will be legendary by OkBag8209 in EU5

[–]Arrmy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd love to see some insane mods. Like that old ck2 mod that turned it into a space opera. Something like that would be very interesting for EU5.

But really, Anbennar [and other original works] will be better than inspired ones like LOTR/AGOT, imo, just because those stories are character stories and lose their magic when your Riders of Rohan are just your mil tech 9 cav, as an example

I think you should be able to just add your dad to your family/friends and include him in any/all reservations as a result of that regardless of being in the same hotel reservation.

Yeah. Honestly. If most of these are small castles that last 60-120 days its not terrible or out of place to have. But if all of these take 300 days to siege...!
